And although I know that the photographer "takes" the pictures and not the tech, this is the best advertisement for the lens. Subscribed.

@@hunterhart1 I have thought about doing exactly that. I love the X-T4, but the range finder style is just nice to use. I do appreciate the bigger battery and IBIS in the X-T4 though (especially considering it costs less). I had an X100V previously and I’m very bummed I sold it…

@@StapediusReflex ahh man you’d have to pry the X100V out of my dead hands. I love the rangefinder because it allows me to use two eyes easier and so my nose isn’t pressed up against the screen.

Really great stuff. I was looking at either the Leica Q or the X-T4 with the 18 1.4. Are you glad you switched from the Leica? I bought the X-T4 today and have been looking at a few wide(ish) Fuji lenses but I think your vid has swung it for me to go for the 18 1.4.
@hunterhart12 жыл бұрын
I had the Q for years. I prefer the Fuji for the technology, ergonomics and the better low light performance. The Q has outstanding image quality but if you want something reliable, Fuji for sure. I had the Q quit on me a few times and it would erase some images off the card (not good for a wedding photographer). I would have to say the full frame 28mm 1.7 is amazing though. I wish they’d just put two card slots on the 3rd Leica Q. So yeah I do like the Fuji system, actually using the GFX as well so it’s nice to be in the echo system.

Wow, what a diverse and comprehensive group of photos! You certainly showed the capability of the optics of this lens, but of course it was being wielded by a talented photographer. So, if I might ask, do you feel that you gave up anything (other that some compactness) by going to Fujifilm from Leica? I'm still using the 18mm f/2 and I'm sure that it could not replicate many of your images here. Have to fight the urge to pull out the plastic.
@hunterhart12 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment and your compliment. I do not feel like I have lost anything from switching from Leica. I love AF for the type of work that I do. Also a flip screen is great in my opinion, that is how I achieved the overhead shot on the thumbnail of this video (would never be able to do that with a leica without a ladder). I cannot speak on the 18mm f2 though. I hear good things about it still but I also hear bad things (with every lens I guess). It cannot be much different though other than AF speed and the aperture. I use the WCL on the X100V a lot and it comes out with amazing images and it only opens up to f/2. I think this lens is definitely worth buying if you don't already own an 18mm f/2. I suggest renting one OR selling the older model and just buying this one! Thanks for watching and make sure to follow over on instagram!

Hello !
@hunterhart1 Жыл бұрын

Heyyy thanks for reaching out and watching the video. If you’re just doing video I’d go with the X-S10 because it’s cheaper and smaller! But if you are needing something larger, better battery and more geared towards photography the XT4 would be great. As far as full frame, you could go Sony A7C with a wide angle lens like the 24mm 1.4 but that’s going to cost you more than the other two options. Im assuming you’ve got Fuji lenses already and I like people to save money at all cost soooo my suggestion is to get the xs10 for video (it’s great for photography too but the dials and size are a lot different.
