In earlier days Fuji always thought also of the users of older Fuji cameras, which did set them apart from other manufacturers and was quite an important point for me to get an X-T4. When this camera came out the X-T3 got a huge update of its Autofocus. But these days seem to be over and I'm not sure what to think other than I'm not happy in which direction this is going 😒

Just a tip people and love your channel mate when you finish doing your firmware updates turn your Bluetooth off. You will find it will drain your battery. If you don't turn it off at after your updates that's one many people forget. Even on your smart phone it's another tip to if you are one of those shooters that constantly likes to upload your photos to your phone while you're shooting then that's gonna drain the battery of your phone as well as your camera. It makes a huge difference.

On the xh2, you can also activate the AF-tracking in video with the joystick: move it around, where you want to start tracking and then “click” the joystick. And then it tracks. To stop tracking, click it again. That is also a great function!

Chris Your consistancy on Fuji cameras is such beautiful work and if we are not saying it enough, I just wanna say we appreciate you brother. Even if you sit a wonder what's out there and if it's making any difference on your down days. WE APPRECIATE YOU SIR!...Still to know about Frame IO in your future vid and also a comparison on the improvements on the AF. Personally I have had the XT2 since inception and that camera has always done so well for me even with the crapy AF but I believe the day I will have the newer cams I'll be shocked what great improvement it has been. Anyone know if this will be passed onto the XT4? We XT4 users have been burdened with not being able to transfer RAWs and now we seem to have to pay another £700 to get the XT5 in order to make this happen. Is this Fuji completely ignoring the previous model and backstabbing customers? This is surely not sensor related update but rather a “lets make the extra price worth it while making people have to upgrade…”

Just tried the autofocus tracking on my dog. It feels SIGNIFICANTLY better. The first try feels on par with Sony, but obviously, it was only one go at it.

As for the Reala ACE film look... I was excited to see it on my GFX 100 II, because I enjoyed shooting a lot of Reala (non-ACE) back in my film days... but after applying it for a few days, I eventually realized that I don't really love that look applied to my Fuji digital files, and glommed onto Astia as my usual favorite. Which is to say... have fun with the Reala look if you have it, but don't feel too bad if you don't have it yet!

Your youtube channel is one of the best sources when it comes to Fuji brand and the fact is that you have a strong influence on this platform. I think you should be the one who should finally admit and reveal a serious problem with their autofocus. Their firmwares are becoming so useless and shows their inability to make any serious af improvement. If they don't change something competition is going to destroy them very soon which would be so sad, because their cameras have been so remarkable over the years.

😢 Hello, I have always been very satisfied with the autofocus and eye-tracking for animals on my XH2S. I am an animal photographer specializing in dogs. Unfortunately, since the last update for the XH2S, the autofocus has become very poor. It often misses the mark by several centimeters. When I check where the focus point (green square) was, which was on the eye, I see in the picture that the autofocus unfortunately focused on the tip of the nose instead. I am more than disappointed. Currently, I have a 2/3 rejection rate, just like in the old Fuji days. I haven't changed any settings, but what has happened since the last update?

Another great video! At the moment, on the X-T5, the RAW files appear in the XApp but transfer as a blank square! Apparently this feature will be in the X-T5 in the next update.

Thanks Chris for the update on these updates ;-) I'm still waiting for Fuji to offer subfolders to (hopefully automatically) store the images of a stacking set into. My Canon 90D offers to create subfolder, my X-T4 doesn't. And I just learned that my wife's new X-S20 does not show the installed firmware when turned on while pressing "DISP" at the same time. Edit: oh, there must be an SD card in the camera to show the installed firmware?! Misfeature.

Hi from Berlin. I watch your channel regularly and find it extremely useful. I was wondering if you or any subscribers have noticed a change in the X-T5's behaviour in high speed continuous shooting since the firmware update to 3.01. I have found that the 1.29 crop is now applied when I have the mechanical shutter on and I am shooting in burst mode. I thought it only applied in electronic shutter mode. If anyone is experiencing the same, I might send Fuji a note. I was shooting sports this morning and found it a bit irritating. But maybe it's my fault and I've accidentally changed some setting. Anyway please keep up the excellent work.

I have watched your channel for some time now and I like and appreciate your work. I consider your channel an important reason to stick with the Fujifilm X-series platform. Until a fews days ago I owned a X-T4 but I am very interested in switching to a X-H2S. What basically held me back of switching was the lack of classic dials which the X-T5 does have, but the X-H2S doesn't have. Since I'm, seriously considering switching to a X-H2S and I value your tips & tricks and background knowledge of the specific Fujifilm cameras I noticed you haven't published that much information specific for the X-H2S. I have some questions I'd like to ask you; 1) Is the lack of setup guides, tips, tricks, etc. about the X-H2S because you don't own this particular camera, or is there some other reason and would you please consider publishing much more information about the X-H2S? 2) Could you please investigate in detail the enhancements that firmware 6.0 for X-H2S and firmware 3.10 for X-T5 brings in particular regarding autofocus? 3) Since Nikon proved in the Nikon Zf that it is possible to have both classic dials and a PASM dial I'm hopeful that Fujifilm will change the user interface of a future X-H3 so that classic dials and perhaps a PASM dial be available. Do you think it is likely that Fujifilm will switch to a hybrid setup such as the Nikon Zf has, or do you think it is very unlikely that Fujifilm would switch over?

"camera automatically tracks the subject while touching the screen" - It works unreliably, the object quickly stops being tracked, if a disturbance appears for a short time, and then disappears, then the focus on the object is lost (the object is lost for tracking).

Downloaded and does seem to work better. There is a lens update on the 16/80, but keep getting "can't find firm wear update, yet I am do nothing different when trying upload, what a bloody pain Fuji updates can be AGH!

I added the new firmware updates to my XT-5, XH-2S, and X-H2 cameras. They all seemed to be improved during my brief test, especially my XT-5, which needed the AF improvement the most.
