Resolution already felt more than enough on my Fujifilm GFX 50S, So I was stoked to see what DOUBLE the pixels would be like on the Fujifilm GFX 100S. It may be considered a "slow" camera when compared to full-frame mirrorless, but does the sensor size, resolution and GF lens system make up for it all. I tried to find out.
Bonus points to anyone who spots the crack...

Said this before, but you're an excellent storyteller. You took what may have been considered a disastrous shooting day and made it into an entertaining lesson that still managed to teach us how the camera works in a real fast paced environment. It keeps the humility and reminds others that even professionals find themselves in shitty unplanned situations. You can still make the most out of it. Also, those files are gorgeous. Loved the car shot with the practical light! The GFX is a camera I absolutely do not need, but I definitely want! Fuji's got the juice.

I picked up a 50s II a few months ago. I wanted a 100s, but everyone was sold out, so I opted for the 50s II and got some G lenses. The GFX image quality is something to behold!

Another incredible video. Those Porsche shots were insane! I'm already impressed by the detail of my R5 after coming from a 24MP sensor... Can only imagine how 100MP feel... yet it'll become a little bit overwhelming and slow to have such huge files for every shot. For portraits it's almost scary to zoom in on a face shot with 100MP... you don't want to see that much detail I guess.
@TheGlassEyeTV
@TheGlassEyeTV 2 жыл бұрын
I've actually been keen to try out the R5 in comparison to the GFX 50S. I wonder resolutions being pretty similar, what the differences in the image would be.

I'm there. Ready to buy my 100s. Watched as many GFX videos as I could find over the last two months. Hadn't imagined the final nudge over the line would been caused by disobedient goats. But there you go. Ta ✌️ (also.... the most enjoyable review I've sat through) 👊🏼

I started my career with a Canon t2i and used it for 15 years, I'm used to slow. I'm also used to using a camera that seems out of place in many situations. I just ordered the gfx100s. I'm looking forward to continuing the tradition with 94 more megapixels.

I like your style, I had one in my hands two days ago and I'm hooked. I'm going to sell all my Sony gear and Olympus to get funds for it. I'm just not sure if I get th 80mm or the 110mm and may I start with the 50mm or 45? Any advice is welcome. Thanks

Thanks! I used to own a GFX50S and the first lens I bought was the 110. From memory, it’s sharper than the 80. The detail was just insane. As far as the other two, I’ve tried neither so 🤷🏻‍♂️

I bought the Fujifilm GFX 100S even though I am not a professional photographer, I am just a seasoned amateur; I bought it because I could afford to splash out after winning a lottery jackpot. Lastly, as I am a fan of wide-angle lenses, large-format 8'x5' prints show off wide-angle lenses in the best way than a print size up to A2 size.

I think my biggest concern in making the jump to the GFX100S is the fact that the max sync speed is 1/125th. I often shoot at 1/200th - 1/250th and the GFX100S isn't compatible with the HSS on the FJ Westcott system. Though, the GFX100 is, weirdly.
@TheGlassEyeTV
@TheGlassEyeTV 2 жыл бұрын
Very valid point and I should have touched on that. I actually didn’t know this until I started shooting and couldn’t get things to sync up

The GF 110 f2 is amazing… in fact, I’d challenge anyone to find any lens which trumps it for portraits at around 85-90 mm full frame equivalent.

Are you implying that the GFX 100S is as slow as a pig? How dare you! LOL.
@luisbustamante9869
@luisbustamante9869 2 жыл бұрын
The GF series would be slow by definition. They are medium format cameras, not intended for street or action photography. It would be more appropriate to compare it with the Rolleis and Hasselblads of old. They feel like them anyway.

When you say slow you mean the Af acquisition
@TheGlassEyeTV
@TheGlassEyeTV 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, AF acquisition for sure, but even trying to rapidly preview an image or zoom into it. or switch back to shooting mode after a preview. Feels sluggish when compared to a Canon or Sony
