This an elegant review, from someone who really comprehends the spirit and the idea behind Fujifilm xe-4 and its rescue of old-school photography, when there weren't these many resources that make a bulky camera. I have abandoned photography for a couple of years, but I am really passionate about it, and I will definitely go for the XE-4, as soon as I get to the US. Thank you so much, Bianca.

Excellent review, I really like the XE4, I almost bought it over the X100V but the new 23mm f2, weather sealing and built in ND filter sort of won me over but if I didn't have an XT4 as my primary camera then the XE4 would've been a great choice. I know quite a few people complain about the minimal design, I think Fujifilm did a great job with it. I think it really helps with having fun taking photos again without 500 buttons haha. I really enjoy you're videos Bianca, very inspiring. Looking forward to more!

Great review! I ordered mine today together with the 27mm pancake and a 56mm from Sigma (I’m shooting stills only, mostly street) as an small, portable addition to my Canon full frame bricks and it should be delivered in two days. Canons M-System didn’t really convince me. Thanks to your review I feel I made the right decision.

Awesome review ! I’d love to pick your brain on the following… I’m having a hard time with deciding on a new Fuji body, struggling with GAS, but also feeling like I want a new and/or third body. Right now I’m shooting on an XT3 and an X100V. Love both. I shoot studio portraits and headshots, personal branding photos and the occasional family session. I used to shoot engagements and weddings, but now it’s almost entirely portrait work. I have fallen in love with the rangefinder style of the X100V, and I am eyeing the XPRO 3 and XE4. I’m having a hard time deciding if I should sell my XT3, and get an XPRO 3, keep the XT3 and get an XE4, or just wait and save for the XPRO3 and have three cameras (XT3, XPRO & X100). I’ve also considered the XT4, but I don’t do video, don’t care about IBIS and I just don’t see the upgrade. I like to work very minimalist, and I only have a handful of lenses. I would love your thoughts as to what you would do in my shoes. I think I’m also feeling kind of burnt out and bored and there’s something about the x100 that just makes me want to shoot more, which is why I’m leaning towards the rangefinder minimalism found in the XE4 and XPRO series. I want the camera to get out of my way, and my work is about connection, simplicity and closeness. Even in the studio, I keep one eye open. I am finding myself shooting in studio with the X100! Would you sell the XT3 and get the XPRO, keep it and go XE4, or just wait and save and get the XPRO as a third? I think there is some piece of me that’s just scared of going entirely rangefinder, considering I’m doing studio for portraits… But maybe that’s just a simple learning curve. And if I sell my XT3 I could probably afford to get another lens, although I’m pretty happy with my combination of 23, 35 and 56. If the focus on the XE4 is as good as the XT3, or better, I’m in. Is it really that fast? Is the XE4 comparable to XT3 in terms of IQ and speed?

Great review! I'm considering getting one for similar reasons, to have a super compact EDC. I might wait until the used prices come down though, they are a bit crazy at the moment. Another lens to consider pairing with this is the Voigtlander 27mm f2 Ultron. It being manual focus means that you can have that f2 aperture in the same size as the Fuji's own XF27mm f2.8! Anyhoo, thanks for making the video!

Beautiful review! You have this calm yet enthusiastic radiation and I like that you're taking your time for every seperate aspect :) I have a GH5 bought specifically with video purpose in mind, but how I learned to love doing street photography as well, for which it is a bit less suitable maybe... I was looking for a full sensor (Nikon z5 perhaps) camera for shooting photography first, but after I stumbled upon the XE4, I might go in that direction. Do you think it would be a good addition to the GH5?

Hey Justin!! Thank you!! I’m glad you enjoyed the vid! And also, welcome to the world of Fuji! Hahahaha. I find this funny because I find myself looking at Sony cameras often now. Hahaha. In your case though, maybe try looking into the X100V?? It has a hybrid viewfinder where you can switch between optical and digital. Also, since you already have a great lineup of Sony glass, having a fixed 23mm focal length should reduce the stress of buying Fuji glass as well. 😅 considering your skill in street photography, the 23mm should be flexible enough fit your needs. ☺️ But it’s also tough because the new Fuji lenses are also so freaking good 😂

Hey...I like your videos very much. Very informative. I'm a beginner in photography and I really like to do street photography . But I really don't know much about cameras. But I have shortlisted 2 cameras, the X-E4 and the X-T30 ii. I'll be buying them used so which one would you recommend? I don't do videos so I won't use that feature. And also confused as what lense to buy for street/architecture photography.
@BiancaMikaehla2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! You're too kind. 😄 I've never used the X-T30ii so I can't really say, but having used the X-E4 for a while now, I can say that it's pretty much perfect for street photography, especially when paired with the pancake lens. The only probably I can possibly see is its size. It's very small and has no grip, so if that seems like a problem and you don't see yourself buying 3rd party grips/attachments, maybe go for the X-T30ii for the bigger body. In terms of street photography, the 27mm pancake is perfect because of the focal length and size but for architecture, it might be a little too tight, so maybe the 23mm for a wider focal range?

Hmmmm. Both are great but if you're leaning towards photography a little more and like the design, then the X-E4. 😊
@elinavance34763 жыл бұрын
for landscapes without tripod and video I would pick the xs-10, for portraits you normally shoot with a faster shutter speed, so the ibis of the xs-10 is not needed. the battery life of the xe-4 is a little bit better and it looks a lot better imo. one of the biggest differences is the viewfinder placement, and screen articulation of both cameras! (aswell as handling, bigger lenses feel better on the xs-10!)

I'm leaning toward the XS10 because the XE doesn't have aperture priority. What are your thoughts?
@patrickcoggins62792 жыл бұрын
The x-e4 doesn’t have a PASM drive dial but you can still shoot in Aperture priority by keeping the ISO and shutter spread on ‘A’ (auto) and manually choosing the aperture you want using the ring on the lens
@troytinsley1482 жыл бұрын
@@patrickcoggins6279 Thanks! But what if I have a 27 mm with no aperture dial?
@patrickcoggins62792 жыл бұрын
@@troytinsley148No probs. The newer version of the 27mm lens has an aperture ring, but even if you don’t, you can use the front control ring to adjust aperture. The XS10 looks to be a nice camera though so if you want the grip and traditional mode dial, it may be a good choice. I think Maarten Heilbron gives a good overview of the differences between the two cameras that may help your decision, so check out his video too.
