It is the most complete camera i can buy (which was at $2500). It has nearly EVERYTHING, from 6ms sensor reads to WB lock on a button, to internal prores. 3 batteries at once (with grip), open gate, LOG, HLG, Fuji film sims, 4k slowmo, 14 stops of DR. Amazing isn't a strong enough word. The few things i would fix, changing things WHILE recording like eye AF, and AF can always be improved in general. Also the lack of SSD output.

SSD recording via type C, can also provide back-up recording in ProRES (CFE+SSD) and that would be awesome! I'd love to see the inclusion of false color, and user luts.

Nice reflections Lutfican. Great job! I too have had my X-h2s for a year now. I have used it a lot shooting news in fact. Really love the image quality. I shoot with the Provia simulation with lowered saturation and noise reduction and have the Dynamic range set at 400. I shoot in 1080p, ProResLT and am really, really happy with the results. flog2 is amazing, but for work this stuff gets turned around and edited really fast with minimal color grading. So basicaly Log is not a workflow option. My two improvement wishes are a less jerky IBIS in video and better headphone performance , meaning the output is very quiet when I am trying to monitor sound. The IBIS is great when you just want to have a static shot, but the moment you start doing movement it just gives itself away - no matter how subtle you try to be. Sony and Panasonic and Canon are better with the slow floaty movement. I think Fuji' IBIS is geared towards still photography. It would be great if they developed a video mode and a stills mode of IBIS. Sadly I don't think IBIS will be improved in any firmware updates. I mean, is it even possible?
@UmutLutfican11 ай бұрын
Thanks a lot! Sure, in your fast work Provia might be better, or if you need a bit more dynamic range Eterna. Hmm, I didn't have any problems with the headphones out, but I haven't used it too often.(but I never had to set the headphone volume to max) If you have a studio headphones with high Ohm/impedance, that might be the reason. Low ohm ones should give a higher volume. I agree, IBIS works well for static shots; I wish X-H2s had a gyro sensor like the new Sony mirrorless cameras. We could stabilize at post with the real movement data. I'm not sure if they can improve IBIS performance through firmware updates, but I think 5-axis ibis thing cannot be too different from brand to brand.(physically) Probably some sort of software decides how to react. So It probably can get better, but they probably don't work on it. :)

Hey, what do you think about photography? You think is good or I should go for the xt5? I do both photography and video
@UmutLutfican11 ай бұрын
hi, I would probably choose X-T5 or X-H2 (not S version) for photography. These two have pixel-shift multi shoot mode etc., both 40mp. They probably shoot the same photo(same sensor), but their body/button/ports are different. XH2 has fullsize HDMI, 3.5mm headphone out, CFexpress slot, bigger body (good for longer video recordings. X-T4 would overheat if I recorded ~25min video, I suspect X-T5 might do the same. XH2s doesn't have that problem. Also XH bodies have fan input if needed.) Also Xh2 can record 8K videos but I'm not sure if it is a good 8K or just a gimmick.(haven't checked) XT5 has separate iso and shutter wheels also you can select burst modes etc. with buttons, but XH2 has PSAM wheel and programmable C buttons, and an upper screen to see the settings. It really depends on your preferences. Xt5 and Xh2 are cheaper than Xh2s; you can use the saved budget to get better/more lenses, I think.

The extra noice in ProRes is a good thing, it means it preserves more data so I find your conclusion on ProRes very strange and inaccurate as all raw or decompressed codecs have more noice.
@UmutLutfican7 ай бұрын
thanks for writing, sure less compressed codecs are better for post-processing but some people use Fuji cameras for run-n-gun projects and don't even color grade etc.(because they like film profiles) that's why I mentioned that part actually.

Lütfican selam, videoda anamorfik lenslerle ilgili bir parantez açmıştın. Ben de xh2s kullanıyorum ve anamorfik lense sahibim. 16:9 video çekerken desqueeze etmekte sorun yaşamıyorum fakat acaba 6.2k’da 3:2 video çeksem daha geniş bir aspect ratio elde eder miyim diye merak ediyorum. Bir bilgin var mı acaba?
@UmutLutfican11 ай бұрын

I'm wondering what are the differences between a video camera and a cinema camera? .. since you say this xh2s is a video camera. I would say that if you create something that is good enough to be played in a cinema then you can regard it as a cinema camera. I personally wouldn't consider this a photo camera..my xt1 is a photo camera.
@UmutLutfican7 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for writing. I didn't mean picture quality actually. I mean cinema cameras can shoot internal raw that's a point but actually what makes them cinema camera is more about ergonomics I believe. Inputs, outputs, built-in fan (no overheating), built-in ND maybe, etc. Otherwise, this camera is a beast (just like most of the new mirrorless cameras)
@zurrizurzur10 ай бұрын
what do u mean no it not being a "cinema camera"?
@UmutLutfican10 ай бұрын
Hi, these are photo cameras with great video capabilities. (even their form is like that) Cinema/video cameras would have better connections, internal fan, internal ND filters etc... but X-H2s can give out raw video via HDMI, it has a fan port etc. so it is quite a modular good camera in my opinion.

Merhaba, 6.2K da 3:2 yerine nasıl 16:9 olarak çekebilirim, CF Express kartları bunu isteğime yardımcı olur mu?
@UmutLutfican9 ай бұрын
Şöyle: momofilmfest.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/anamorphic-infographic-01-2-e1570343685147.png CFexpress sadece ProRes kaydetmeyi aktif ediyor. Cfexpress kartların hızı ona anca yetiyor.

I got the camera when it came out. 7 custom modes, great ergonomics but for 2750 Euro I expected much more. For video it's not a good choise. AF... just ok, stabilization...bad, active track...no, lense choise...limited, shutter angle...no(my old GH4 has it), waveform, false color...no. I still wait for a major firmware update. What happend to the so famos fuji kaizen mentality? Do I regret it in the end? Yes
@UmutLutfican11 ай бұрын
Thanks for writing! I agree, It could have been a lot better. I like the visuals I get from this camera, but the features are not great just like you said. After xh2s, Lumix S5 iiX and FX30 have been released, probably a lot better options for video. But, I was in Turkey when I bought this X-H2s, $2500 Fuji is $2500 there, but $2500 Sony is like $3000 because of taxes. Fujifilm somehow covers the tax itself and makes its price equal to the US price.
@GrayGhostDog110 ай бұрын
Sony FX30 is rocking a less modern sensor, worse rolling shutter performance, no built-in ND for a "cinema" camera, and lacking a mechanical shutter mechanism and viewfinder for hybrid/stills work... R5 is NOT in the same price category, limited video codec choices, and still think it has recording time limit??? ... S5II/SIIX has worse rolling shutter performance and is also sporting a less modern sensor, but if I had to choose a full-frame mirrorless camera in this price range today, it would be LUMIX... Nikon Z6III is rumored, but until then... I've used a few Sony mirrorless(A7S3 and A74) and the A74, even with their "god-tier" AF, just didn't meet my use cases. Terrible rolling shutter performance! Overheated too many times It can't output RAW via HDMI and also has limited codecs.
