1. You're using a very narrow aperture for most shots, and even there the focus can be seen pulsating when you move close to the subject. AF issues are highlighted when people use wide open aperture. 2. In a couple of shots where you have indeed used wide aperture, you are zooming the frame in video edit, not using your lens to zoom. Not sure if you had set the cmaera static on tripod and the AF settings to object tracking instead of AF-C. 3. You mentioned in other comment replies that you have turned OFF eye tracking. So, you're not the right person to comment on bug fix that the firmware update was supposed to fix in the first place. Majority of us are facing issues even after the firmware update and you're posting misleading info here with deliberately designed shots where issue will be minimized. This doesn't do any good to us consumers. We are at loss if we blindly support brands instead of holding them accountable for delivering quality.

Hey @VioletGoku not intending to lead people astray or off the hook. This is def a massive improvement from the previous firmware where the camera with same settings and type of shots failed to track faces properly. I mentioned I'm impressed because of the difference but sure it's not perfect. Where I dollied in fast there was hunting for focus but even that can maybe be fine tune if you play with the settings.

Nailed on. Clearly fuji paid off the fella making this video. Most likely wasn't even shot on Fuji. AF still SUCKS bad on my x2 40mp fuji's and the false positive rate is scary bad. Fuji are only interested in Film Sims. 100000% more important than having AF that works according to Fuji.

Hard to say man, those shots were all but dynamic. Good that it works just right for you though.

I don't think any of these shots are particularly challenging for autofocus and it looks like it actually doesn't do a good job in some of these. As someone who has plenty experience with an XT3, XT5 and XH2 I know the firmware has made the autofocus in the latest cameras worse. I don't believe the subject detection works in these cameras yet, hopefully it can be fixed. The issue with the false positive green box is a really big one I think and it's very disheartening that it's being ignored by Fujifilm and that the attitude of a lot of people is that it's the users fault and not actually a degradation in camera performance, which it is.

He barely moves towards or away from subject, manual or single focus style, let not forget the shots are mostly wide angle and subject is far away , lens motor is barrely moving inside, in the one shot that is when is getting closer he zooming in in post lol. Yet he's one of the guys who says user error haha

Now you place an object in front of the lens, then remove it from the scene, and the camera doesn't know what to do and no longer seeks focus. fuji destroy my xh2s

Same here....the more they update thé autofocus the worst it gets....it was working fine with firmware 1.0
@jcar45224 ай бұрын
I encourage both of you to downgrade to 1.03, It works "fine". Its the only way to recover your camera and make It usable again. Here to help if needed :)
@simon3596 ай бұрын
I’ve heard some channels say that it’s even worse than before, that version 1.03 is better than any of the post firmware versions?
@DuanVanSchalkwyk6 ай бұрын
Unfortunately I got my XH2s when the autofocus was already a problem. Would have loved to be able to test it side by side
@jcar45224 ай бұрын
Yes, yes and more yes. 1.03 is miles ahead better than all the fw posted later. Dont let anybody take It wrong. Said that, 1.03 is worse than Sony or Canon autofocus, or even Nikon.

Sorry mate but if you use a small aperture says it all. With this settings you could shoot in manual focus and it would look even better. 90% of your shots werent challanging for any focus on any camera. If you would honestly showing the performance of your autofocus you would shoot with F 1.4 and you would change the distance to your subject in a way the autofocus would be challenged. It has nothing do to with your settings but more with your filming, that you tried avoid that autofocus has to work😅. The only shot where you clearly moved towards the subject was out of focus. And what's the purpose of zooming in, if you want to show the autofocus. It's really strange what you want to achieve with this video i do not want to interpret bad intentions but it really seems like you trying to manipulate the people...

I used X-H2 with latest firmware, the lens were 17-70mm Tamron and 33mm Tokina ATX-M, in both cases aperture was f/4, ISO=1600, shutter speed 1/60, shooting 4K video with me 2-10ft in front of camera, AF-C fine except if I moved too fast toward the camera, there was a small lag in terms of focusing. (AF-C, AF mode is "Multi", tracking sensitivity:+4, AF speed: +3, Face detection: left eye)

That's great. Same on my side I just increased the AF Speed to help with the catching up. But all n all I am happy

Sorry mate, but you're a fanboy at best and a liar at worst, talking up a broken thing and thus tempting people, including many who have to save up for such a camera for a long time, to spend a lot of money on something that 1. is defective and 2. doesn't meet their needs at all.
