Great video. I would love to try the Fuji systems but I'm afraid to give up the full frame sensor of my Nikon D3x. I print a lot of large prints up to 30x40 and I'm not sure the smaller sensor could handle that. Maybe I'll have to rent one just to see what it can do.

thanks for posting , i have read some criticism of the video function on this camera what are your thoughts , does it auto focus fast enough or does it go searching.
@paultaylor55139 жыл бұрын
I don't understand the point about focus. Spencer stated that he only manually focuses but then says he uses the focus points - what does that mean??
@tdyrkacz9 жыл бұрын
+Paul Taylor Agree this was confusing... I think he means that he chooses the point which will be magnified when he manually focuses ??
@rjones43269 жыл бұрын
Some cameras can use the AF system for focus confirmation in manual mode.
@Mazzty9 жыл бұрын
+Paul Taylor Im thinking he may have meant manual settings. Who knows
@michaelsoto39689 жыл бұрын
+Paul Taylor I believe what he meant is that he can use one of the many focus points to zoom in for critical manual focusing without needing to use the focus and recompose technique.
@ThorDyrden9 жыл бұрын
+Thomas Dyrkacz You're probably right - Fujifilm cameras zoom into your selected focus-zone, when manually focusing. So you usually still set the AF-point correctly, where you want to focus and then spin the focus-wheel on your lens.

4:45 minutes in is a shot of the camera with something plugged into the left side - what is that?
@vistek9 жыл бұрын
+Drake White Believe it's the USB cable allowing it to connect to the Remote Release RR-90

I'm thinking of buying either the Leica Q or this X Pro 2, price is different of course but I'm thinking full frame and the Lecia lens just looks so good.

what camera did you shoot this clip with? i picked up a FUJI X 30 a few months ago, the stills are great. but the vdo has tell-tale auto focus. I am thinking about getting a PRO 2, dose the PRO 2 have the same auto focus problems?
@vistek8 жыл бұрын
Hey there, the clip was shot on a combination of cameras including a couple of Sony FS7's and a Sony a7s. We haven't heard about any autofocus issues with the X-Pro2

is it full frame, guys?
@vistek9 жыл бұрын
+Adhyantoro Kusumo not full frame, but the image sensor (X-Trans III "3rd generation") gives image quality equivalent to full-frame DSLRs.

"put it through its paces". 0/10 for getting through the first few seconds of this video without introducing a wank phrase.

Thanks for keeping us honest Des. We try to avoid catch phrases whenever possible, but sometimes the catch phrases find us, especially when we churn these videos out under tight timelines. Still, it's great that someone is really listening to what we're saying and making sure that our next videos are even better. -D

No, thank you for your measured and polite response, what a pleasant change. Please allow me to alert you to other photographic terminological cliches that you might want to filter out in the future: 1. My weapon of choice (referring usually to a camera) 2. Trusty (e.g. my trusty camera, my trusty tripod, etc) 3. It's a game of two halves, no that's actually a football pundit cliche If I remember any other "catch" phrases, or if a phrase starts to do the rounds I'll contact you immediately. And finally, thank you for the video.

Well put Des... and dually noted. :) - Dale

Dale, I simply don't know how this one got through because it is easily and by a country mile the biggest offender. It is....."go to". As in "my go to camera", etc. Everybody is saying that. It's like a bloody disease that's worse than the Ebola virus. One person gets infected on the internet and it then spreads uncontrollably, floating around the either waiting to be plucked by another lover of 'The Wank Phrase'. To quote the great Tony Curtis, "nobody speaks like that".
