27:58! Was an easy hang, my man. Time flew as it always does when you’re out shooting. I’m digging this time domain. Appreciate the work you put into editing this beast. 👏🏽

This could’ve been an even longer video and I still would’ve been just as engaged. In general, I really love watching all of your videos that combine the voiceovers, walk around footage, and end photo result, but I especially appreciated hearing your perspective behind each capture. More please!

Thx, Reggie! It is very inspiring to hear your thought process and to see what kind of results you get from this walk. I also appreciate that you share which film sims you use and why you use those. I also really like that you’re so relaxed and down to earth. I’m absolutely a fan of your videos here!

The x-t5 is really helping me with some extremely low light photography (b&w) I'm having to do right now. I'm talking iso 25,600 and up to 2 stops underexposed when set on 51,200. It's doing better than my x-t3 did, plus the 40megapixels helps even more. I take the RAW into DXO - denoise, convert to b&w and export to Adobe raw format. Then work those in Photoshop. Results are almost indistinguishable from old work in Tri-x at 800 with careful diluted processing.

I LOVE this format, getting a peak behind the curtain to learn *why* you wanted to take a particular photo is super interesting. Your engineer way of explaining things while providing visual examples works with my brain :)

I LOVED the format! I would definitely watch more videos like this. I really enjoyed hearing what you liked and didn’t like and your reasoning for setting up the shots the way you did. I was constantly nodding my head and agreeing with you, haha. Maybe a touch shorter would be great (like 20 min maybe?). Not that I wouldn’t want to watch for longer I just found I was concentrating really hard listening and taking it all in that I couldn’t pay quite as much attention at the end. But this is super minor though. Overall I really enjoyed it, learning a lot and would happily watch more like this! Thanks for this!

Man you really are an inspiration! The scenes you see from effectively "nothing" is really eye opening. Also, thank you so much for the 1million discord page, it's been such an exciting experience going out and taking photos especially for the 52 week challenge! You sir, are a legend!

Thanks! It’s great to practice our eyes to make art out of “nothing” as light is so dynamic and can change the most mundane of scenes to some spectacular!

Thanks for the honest insight into the whole process. In my opinion, the reflection shots, the bottle, the autumn leaf, and the striped building in black and white are amazing pictures. The rest are just mundane, showing how difficult it is to create something special when nothing interesting is around. So with this long video format, the message is very clear: it's hard without people and landmarks. If you made a 7-minute video instead of the 27-minute one, and showcase only your best shots, it would have felt like magic.

Appreciate the feedback. I’m actually working on a video implementing this - the shooting portion is 2 minutes. Then I’ll break down my top 5-10 images. Target is 8 minutes or so video

This video is really helpful, specially for beginners to initiate a series of thoughts while they are trying to shoot. It guides about implementing the rules and techniques which otherwise are just theory. Keep up🍻

I just got an x100v. When I take pictures with it the sky and the photo looks really blown out in the highlights. Is it maybe because since it’s “film simulations” that I have to abide by the sunny 16 rule? That worked for me but I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong. I would like to be able to shoot at F2 on sunny days. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
@Reggiebphoto

not specifically. you can always compensate with the shutter speed or the internal ND.

use histogram when shooting and adjust toward lowlight, also you have NR filter in x100v

Reggie, I have an unrelated question for u. I love the lens u are using for this video, but I'm having trouble finding a good middle-range zoom. 16-55 is too heavy for me. What would u recommend in my case? Maybe u are aware of some third-party lens that is sharp? (I do a lot of landscape photography.) Thanks. BTW, I too like reflection photos 😊.

Very nice video, I hope you do more like this. One question: Is there a quick way on the X-T4 (which I currently shoot) or the X-t5 to switch between the recipes? I have the impression that the X-H2 or X-H2S might allow one to put a recipe on each custom setting so that you don't have to change film simulations, then set the other parameters (tone curve, grain, etc.) separately. Is that correct--that just turning the dial would let you change all of those things at once after you've stored your recipes as custom settings? Thanks very much!
@Reggiebphoto
@Reggiebphoto Жыл бұрын
Yup you set a fn button to custom setting. Then you can toggle between all your recipes
