I’ve owned (or own) all of these cameras and agree with your assessment. All did the job well, but the X-T5 doesn’t have that hewn from a block of metal feel that the ZF just manages and that Leica does so well. The X100V is small enough that I don’t tend to notice. I think I also like the APS-C format best in fixed lens cameras, because then the compromises of the smaller format are made up by the advantages of a smaller camera. If I’m looking for absolute image quality, I still reach for my ZF with 24-120 or 85/1.8.

Yes I do the same. Lately we visited our godchild for the first time and my instinct let me reach out to the Zf immediately. But for every day family documentation. I use the X100VI much more. Appreciate your time watching and leaving a comment!

Thyproch has gorgeous Z-mount compatible lenses. Also for Fuji X mount. But Nikon lenses are largely big, heavy and expensive compared to Fuji, which is making me lean towards the XT5.

The Fujifilm x-t5 body is made from Magnesium Alloy, not plastic. In my opinion, the camera also feels very good and durable. I think nobody should be worried about build quality of the x-t5. I don't own the zf, so if that feels even better than the x-t5 that is a very good selling point! Thank you for the video
@IntrovertAmateur9 ай бұрын
Good point! I forgot to mentions although the X-T5 feels "cheaper" in direct comparison, it still is a good build quality with weather resistance and it does hold up in heavy use, shown by YT street photographers. Thank you for your time watching and your comment! Much appreciated!

@@IntrovertAmateuryeah I think that people are forgetting that Fuji made the XT5 lighter than the Xt4. They tried to make it an overall more ergonomic camera with still good build quality
@jtes14429 ай бұрын
I have both the XT5 and the Nikon ZF. I like the ZF better for lowlight and access to the great Nikon glass. However, the Fuji XT5 has better controls and ergonomics.

I accidentally adjust the exposure compensation dial on my Fuji X-S20. I think the build quality of Fuji is nice overall and obviously nice looking. I wish that camera was weather sealed since I use it for wildlife. I like the look of the ZF and since Nikon is taking video seriously now I could see getting a future camera. I’ve gotten many accessories already and just waiting for my X100VI
@IntrovertAmateur9 ай бұрын
Hope your X100VI will arrive soon! I think for a lot of people the XS20 would be a great option since it is relatively affordable and available (currently no XT 30/40 and XE model available). But the XS20 has the modern design and therefore seems to not be as sexy like the X100 and XT line up. Thank your for watching as usual!

What are your thoughts on the Fujifilm X100VI vs the Leica Q3?
@Tharrel9 ай бұрын
3x the price ;)
@IntrovertAmateur9 ай бұрын
In my opinion it doesn't make sense to compare both of them, since they are simply priced too differently and there are qualities, which are reflected in the price like the build material and the lens. In my opinion it's like comparing an everyday car like VW Golf with a sports car like a Porsche 911. The more practical car is the VW Golf, but the Porsche offers in specific categories qualities, which justify the higher price tag, although it lags in most practical categories. That's in short how I see the X100VI and the Q3. If I had infinite money, I would have kept the Q3 next to the X100VI :) Some say the Leica cameras like Q3 is the camera you want and the other brands like Fuji etc. are cameras you "need". In my opinion we reached the point where every modern camera is just a want object, like most consumer products these days :) Thank you for your time watching!

@Jgheiler3 ай бұрын
which 35mm would you recommend on the ZF to keep a low profile, but good image quality? (less than $1k).
@IntrovertAmateur3 ай бұрын
For a relative low budget I would get the Nikon Z 35mm 1.8 or if you like a bit of character in your image the new Nikon Z 35mm 1.4 lens. They are not really low profile like the 40mm f2, but for performance and price (around 600-700$ depending on your country) they look great. You could of course slap an manual focus lens on the Zf to get a low profile e.g. the Voigtländer 35mm 1.2 Nokton, but I haven't used Voigtländer lenses yet, which are native for Z mount. Thank you for watching!

In camera comparison the most important is to compare the output.
@IntrovertAmateur9 ай бұрын
True, but in my opinion the output of modern cameras are nowadays relatively similiar. There is no camera with bad image quality and normal people can't tell the difference + most images on the internet are edited heavily anyway. The differences we have today can only be identified by tech people, who go deep into the pixel peeping. I don't do that when I use cameras and there are much better people on YT who can do these kinds of technical comparisons. I focus on how I experience the cameras and share my thought. Still thank you for your time giving this a shot and watching!

To be honest, I dit never really use the modern retro cameras, I had, as intended or what the dials seem to offer me as options. I tried with the Fuji X100V first to use it all manual, but that was not really satisfiying and I was to slow, even for myself. ;-) In the End, i switched it to full Auto, to just use it as a point and shoot and that worked the best for me. With the Nikon ZF i knew before, that the dial concept was not really working well. So I set it to the A Mode with Auto ISO and thats where the camera works best for me. (especially with vintage lenses). It is basically the same setup, i used with the Sony. Well... that were my modern retro cameras, basically. :D When I use the Nikon FM2, for example, I also fix 2 of my 3 settings, if possible. Iso is set by the film and I usually try to get a fixed shutter speed that fits the lighting conditions. like 1/1000 daytime and then I try only to work with the apperture as my last variable parameter. Only if necessary or if I intend to do something special, I switch the shutter speeds.
@IntrovertAmateur8 ай бұрын
Yeah, if I look back on the past months I basically shoot aperture priority on all cameras, regardless if modern or retro modern :D Except for the M6, the ISO is fixed by film stock, shutter speed and aperture I have to dial in and yes, sometimes I feel stressed to find the correct setting, when the scenario I want to capture on film moved too fast, like my kids :D But these dials are just so pretty to look at and in case of the Zf feels great :D

@@shutterKeebs1127 it definitely feels like a downgrade compared to the x-t4. The ZF is on another level as far as build quality goes. The x-t5 confuses me a touch. The output is beautiful, but I don't understand how the body can be weather resistant. If you look at the sd card door and the battery, there aren't any rubber gaskets on it like the x-t4 had.
