I appreciate the caveats you raise at the beginning of your video. These African cultures have developed immunity against diseases that Westerners are so afraid of. 😢. ES, I appreciate your acceptance and maturity through it all. Most Westerners would consider the process as unsanitary. But as you alluded to earlier, the people have longevity vis a vis Westerners so who are we to pass judgement? Keep enlightening us.

Back in the early 1960s, the annual Summer stays on my grandparent's cattle farm in the Mississippi Delta, we had these Guinea Fowl roaming around. They were our breakfast buddies, providing us with their eggs for devil eggs, cakes, and even hair care. Our farm was pretty rustic, with wild goats, outdoor toilets, and rainwater-catching tubes. And when it got dark, we relied on good old kerosene lights. But you know what? We didn't need all those fancy modern amenities. The lack of infrastructure was actually the best part. It taught us about true happiness and the simple joys of life. Trust me, there's something magical about living off the land and embracing the simpler things. DIY House & Farm thank you for sharing!

First I watched the recipe on making Ethiopian Ayib making, then I watched Nigerian Fulani northern Nigeria making Wara, and then finally ending with this beautiful, inspirational and educational video of Ghanian Fulani making Wagashi. So, when I visit Africa, I'll come as a empty vessel. Looks as though the people there have patience in every aspect of their lives. This was so interesting watching the process. Can we appreciate her upper body strength, she didnt break a sweat. Prayer before working, a virtuous woman. Is the color blue symbolic in Fulani culture, as she adorned her head, jewelry and the childrens clothing? The women walking through the village carrying there baskets was a lovely. @@flattery1111 I beg your pardon ! We are vulnerable by nature ?? I am a woman, I do lots of things that men do. Example : I do tile, wall and floor, mixing of cement, paintting and fixing wall papers. I do wood works too and oil paint. I do a lot more and my garden gives me pleasure after my hand work. I trim my hedges by myself and tidy up my garden. I do all these with great pleasure because it gives me joy, and its fulfiling. If women want to have equal right to men then there should not be a reason to complainning in my opinion.

I love the process very natural and organic. I would only not use the plastic sieve with hot water and use a metal sieve instead. In my opinion I would prefer dam water to the processed water in those sachets they call pure water as often unknown additives are added to the water presumably to keep it fresh inside the enclosed plastic sachet. Just filter the water from the dam and boil if it makes you feel more comfortable 🙂

You did a VERY GOOD JOB with your disclaimer about cultural differences with regard to health and food standards. When I am there I too have learned to suck it up and not judge. Ghanaians are probably in much better health than us Westerners. I initially bit my tongue to impress my Ghanaian husband (first shocker was unrefrigerated eggs roadside a milk and cheese on the supermarket shelves) but the more I visit, the more I adopt to certain things. Trust me, they think western ways are strange too

The soap is made from oil and caustic soda and is called azuma tw3de3. You can use it to wash utensils and even clothes but is bio which can bleach your clothes. Is very good for washing white clothes.
