I put the dual 5inch set up on my 2013 cummins, super impressed with the fit and finish. The down pipe flange is probably the best flange I've seen on a exhaust system.

I think it’s perfect, I like how the tail pipe angles out perfect, not too straight and not too much of a 45.

that 4 inch 409 stainless pipe welds really nice with the 5/32 inch E6010 blue shield welding rods... so if ya cant find 5 inch, buy twice as much 4 inch and cut them length ways and weld them together. 8", with some tinsmith work.

I have 5” straight also. It was getting obnoxious. I found the Aero Exhaust 5” resonator AR50 is the model number. Works amazing, truck is still loud but it toned down all the obnoxious stuff.

The welder, steel box, other tool box, and fuel tank really do a number to keep it tame in the cab. I was pulling with the 8" axle dump and it got slightly obnoxious up grades out west, but never unbearable. I can only imagine what it would be like with nothing in the bed. I know which resonator you're talking about and they're pretty sweet. I almost bought one when I had a stack back in the day.

I got a 5 in mbrp with an 8 in tip on my 12 valve and couldn’t be happier 5 in sounds better than the 4 in in my book😁

12 valves are pretty quiet out the exhaust compared to a commonrail, but in a 1st or 2nd gen, it might be just as loud in the cab. 5" all day!

I love my 5" Turbo back straight pipe on my 05 cummins. No drone issues at all. Having a covered bed is what I thinks helps with the drone kill. I do get a lot of Turbo stutter but not sure if that is a problem. What are Your thoughts? Wishing You and the family a healthy and blessed New Year!⚡︎👍

Mine does it on the 3rd to 4th gear shift if i let off in time. It's not the greatest for it but it won't hurt it for a long time. It's easier to get it to do it the more aggressive tune you're running. On level 4, it'll stutter all the time between shifts or letting off.

Sounds like a truck and look great. I want this. I have a 99 with a 3”I think and 14 with a 5” but with a straight muffler. Muffler needs removing

The vgt really quiets down the exhaust on the 6.7s. Switch to a fixed vane and they get ungodly loud!

If you had a short bed you wouldn't need that extra pipe, im looking hard at the 4" system tho for my 07, wonder how it'll sound with the cheetah? I have 5" with a muffler because it is way to loud i think.

BD sells the whole kit for $1,200 to do the VGT conversion. I just need to order it. It's slow season and I have a ton of expenses going out in January so I'm holding out on that. Ultimately decided just to sell the intake horn and intercooler. I took the AFE intake and VGT turbo.

Definitely won't be doing a video on that one. Eventually, I'm going to pay someone to install it. Just have not been in a hurry! It's been nice being able to drive through the shop or back my trailer in at odd angles

Maybe your truck is different than my 2015(looks the exact same) but when I connected the 5” down pipe to the turbo the hard part was holding the gasket in place but I don’t you use a gasket. Personally I think one is needed especially with you towing and the high temp exhaust causing other issues if you have exhaust leaks in that area.

I've never had a system that used a gasket between there. On my truck, I've never seen a leak between the flange but I've seen other trucks that do have a slight leak. That 08 I just parted out had a little bit of soot at one of the points.

Yeah, I get that you can get them, but no kit comes with them. If you want it, you'd always have to order it separate. I've pulled downpipes and turbos from so many 5.9s and even 6.7s and not a single one ever had it.

Vband flanges do not require a gasket. That's like putting pipe tape on a JIC fitting

Hey what size tires u running cause I run 35's on mine which are 315/70R17's

315 70 17 is 34.4. I ran them for about 60k miles(Ironman all country). Great tires, just noisy! Right now, running 33 12.50 22

Was debating on going with a 5 inch on my 99. Currently have a 3 inch mbrp exhaust sounds great. What do you think going from that system (has a muffler). To straight pipe 5 inch? Also steve i need the wireing harness for my 2nd gen from tail lights to the connector up by the driver door/wheel we'll area if you or anyone u know has a parts truck.

The pedal itself it sticking? That's not a common problem. I'd personally buy a new one that's reputable but being that it's not a common problem, a used one probably wouldn't give you an issue.

Yeah just got out paint shop.guy has had truck months sitting got in it pedal just wouldn’t come back up ,put spring on it to make pedal to come back up to make it home not sure if the guy did something to make it do that,he called nexts morning to fix but didn’t go back.has been a nightmare with him ..thanks for replying definitely helps me know which way to go tomorrow morning .was going to purchase throttle position sensor and start there
