Ok so I have a 08 crown vic pi. I wish I could find my drawings from 5 years ago. This is my drawings comming to life with different subs. I saw you on a jacob viral video and then I was searching 6th order builds and this popped up. I'm in shock as was my ol lady. This was exactly what I drew up. Even cutting the metal bracing and rear deck out. Lol I just finally got the last piece I needed to star my build. Thanks fr sharing your build. I know what hurdles I'll have to jump through now. I love it man! I have 2 SA XV2s 12 in subs with a sia 3500 on them. It's just a start rn. Next year I'll add to it.

Thanks for such a positive comment! I paid someone else to figure out the tuning/port sizes to minimize my risk as far as damaging subs go. 6th orders, in most cases, are basically a ported box within a ported box where one chamber is smaller than the other and tuned lower as well. In my case, I went for a 2:1 ratio where the subs share 4cf. in the lower chamber tuned around 25hz and 8cf. in the main chamber tuned around 50hz. Thanks for watching!

It looked way sketchy. I wanted to do a "big" build and had to choose between a trunk wall or a b-pillar wall. As someone who's still pretty new to this, I though the trunk would be the easiest option. I had no clue how hard it would actually be and would probably choose the other option if I had to do it again. Thanks for watching!

@JayyCobb6 жыл бұрын
Yes, they're 4". I don't know too much about 6th orders to be honest. What would larger rear ports change?
@therealpaulyd95586 жыл бұрын
I’ve been wondering about aero ports altogether like how size and length change tuning. I have 3 optidrive 12’s In a6 cube box with an 8inch aeroport the ports 12 inches long and i have it 7 inches off the back wall it sounds really good and hits hard but I just wonder wat different sizes and lengths would change. So I wonder to wat bigger port would do in your 6th order. Would it drop the tuning or raise it
@JayyCobb6 жыл бұрын
As far as length goes, the longer the port the lower the tuning. My ports are roughly 2" from the top and 2" from the bottom of the box so there isn't much room for change. I had actually paid a box designer to figure out the best size for my specific needs so I couldn't screw it up.
@MasterDJRenn6 жыл бұрын
The larger the port the longer it has to be for the same tuning, a 4" port need to be around 6" long in a 4 cu/ft box for a 32 hz tune where as a 6" port needs to be around 15" long. There is a really good port length calculator on Precision Sounds Products website. I cut my per their instruction and the tuning was spot on.
