This is not a gimmick. When you take a community park and improve not only it but the square block surrounding the park not only for your own use but the use of the community…man! Hats off the The Ballers, I hope they’re in Oakland for a very long time

@@BabyC-Pot not at all. No, they’re not a Major League team but let’s be honest, they’re a small independent league team that’s doing SOMETHING for the community while the A’s are screwing people out of jobs over a ballpark Dickhead John doesn’t have the money nor bandwidth to get built!

@@BabyC-Pot nope. Have you been to any of the Oakland Athletic League (High School) baseball fields? There ain’t a single good one! I assure you it won’t be long before they host games there. Would love to see the team take over the soccer field behind the first base side. Build a clubhouse, more concession area, restrooms and more parking. Also paint some murals on the warehouses behind 3rd base. Also add more signage to the black cloth around the park.

I stopped by the park and took a look today. I felt so exited to see the progress. Now that I see the full vision through these videos and that you will have parking also, I am definitely going to some games. You guys have captured the Oakland spirit of baseball and are building a local landmark that the city leaders and the A's ownership could never do! As time goes by, I hope you guys have a Statue of Rickey Henderson out front and some plaques of all the great players who grew up playing in Oakland!

We have the Portland Pickles. Same set up, renegade, no MLB influence - at all. Set up home and home series with us. You can hate on us, we on you. Stir it up. Oakland has rough reputation. We've tried to burn our own city down, a few times. This would be perfect rivalry.

Hey guys, when you do an upgrade, what I would do is ventilate that area underneath the bleachers, and use those little pockets in between the stanchions for small food kiosks. You'd have to drop a ceiling in underneath for sanitation and drainage reasons of course, but it's a cool and shaded area. That helps prevent spoilage out in the sun, and incentivizes smaller food businesses with "tapas style" food - very much like the Emeryville Public Market. Empenadas one place, potato wedges another, tacos, calamari, or fried mushrooms at others - endless array of possibilities - and probably is more conducive than your typical large footprint eatery trying to serve everything to everybody. The concept supports more entrepreneurship and DBEs in the process. $15 slices of frozen pizza are not a bargain at an MLB game, and you can completely alter the fan experience with this humble venue...Looks like a great first step at re-establishing Oakland baseball, and very easily it could turn into a carnival atmosphere that MLB never had or ever will have. Who knows? People might show up just for the food!...Great job!...

Lots of great college baseball in the Bay Area. There's room for an independent league team too. As you know the Pac 12 tournament starts May 21st and with the Ballers not opening until June 4th , just before the Super Regionals, there's probably not a lot of local college baseball viewing opportunities that are going to be available. Difficult to imagine a SR landing at Stanford or Cal this year if either makes it out of the Pac 12 tourney.
