Note that a minimum of 35 people will fly to space in 2024. That is almost twice the number launched in 2023. There are also at least half a dozen landings on the Moon. Exciting is not a strong enough word.

I think, there is a confusion about timing. The US observes already Daylaight Saving time, but Europe are still in winter time. The 7:00 am Central Time is actually a CDT time, corresponding to 6 am CST. As CST is UTC-6:00, launch time is 12:00 UTC/GMT, and not 13:00, as stated in the video. For me, all this means that it is 13:00 in Hungary. (I am an organizer of a Zoom seminar, so I spent some time to figure such things out...)

Fueling at almost 2 ton / second is impressive, if you consider all the required cooling steps, the height it needs to be pumped to, and the trickiness of pumping liquid oxygen through metal pipes at high velocities.

Don't be surprised if they don't show that part. They redacted that part of the WB 57 footage. May have had to do something with the anomaly but either way it is developing proprietary tech that they don't want falling into a competitors hands. They probably show it eventually and I'd love to see that too, I think it could be later down the road though.

I really wish missions like Varda got more press coverage. There are a lot of naysayers about spaceflight out there who think it's just about sending humans to colonize places for no real reason and that it's a waste of money, but there is a lot of value in developing infrastructure in space. This is exactly the kind of thing that may win over some of that crowd.

You brought up a good point I had never previously thought about, propellant tank insulation, maybe they don’t have this at the moment for testing but if they plan on doing any flight further than orbit they will absolutely need tank insulation, they will not be able to make it to mars without something to prevent boil off of propellant in transit
