Its sad to see Evan had various minor mistakes which prevented him from reaching a podium spot. He didn't quite lift the 425 lb stone, he took his hands off during the leg press, he didn't prepare properly for the 1000 lb deadlift, he should've tried the 410 lb log and not the 440 lb log. Its a shame because that would've been his biggest accomplishment of his short strongman career.

Bobby Thompson can lift weights on each end of a bar but beyond that he'll go out 'injured' nine times out of ten. The number of events he's limped away from while holding an arm is way, way more than any other lifter. I don't know why he bothers showing up.

People should know, even though Tom Stoltman is the greatest in the world at loading stones, that wasn't always the case. Back in the day it used to be Magnus Samuelsson, Jessen Paulin, Arild Haugen. They could all lift a 385 lb stone which was always the heaviest, the 385 lb stone was the hardest stone for years until the 396 lb and 420 lb stones appeared in the late 2000s.
@AlasdairThompson9 ай бұрын
They sure did! But none of them made it look easy. Tom just one motioned 425lb (after doing the same to 400,375 and 350). They were the best of the their time but there's no real comparison to be made in stone lifting ability.
@Vampire__Squid9 ай бұрын
@@AlasdairThompson Yes there is a comparison, back in the day a 385 lb stone was very impressive. There was only a handful of strongman in the world that could lift it.
