The referee should have noted that the player in the red corner repeatedly poked him in the back of the head during the clinch. If you can't control yourself from wildly throwing haymakers and hooks with no regards for accuracy or if they hit your opponent in the back of the head, you deserve the penalty for illegal strikes. Exactly, I was expecting the commentator to point this out after the knockout sequence and it never happened. He was dazed after getting dropped and marched at his opponent when he should have looked at the ref instead. Cmon every boxing fan knows about the 8 count. It's cause amateur boxing uses points based on how many times you hit them. The round score doesn't matter. Red can win the first two rounds and still lose the fight if blue lands 100 punches in the 3rd round. So, they just do a bunch of fast punches and hope to land as much as possible.
