Hello Modelorian-Crew,
this video is the FULL BUILD video of my Kinetic 1/48 scale Israeli Air Force F-16D Barak build. The video captures all the steps from building and painting the cockpit, applying the 3D-Decals for the cockpit, assambling the fuselage, the painting of the camouflage and the final detailing of the scale model. As a little bonus, I show how to make a removable payload using small magnets.
Why did I choose this aircraft? In August 2020 the Israeli Air Force visited Germany for the very first. This was a major event for both countries and air forces. During this visit aircrafts of both air forces participated in Exercise Blue Flag 2020 in german air space. The israeli Vipers stayed at Nörvenich Air Base near Cologne, Germany. On this occasion I visited the Air Base and took some nice pictures of the rare visitors. The particular aircraft I build in this video also took part in the exercise at Nörvenich AB. The pictures of the aircraft in the beginning of the video are my own, taken in August 2020.

It's a notorious kit to build but you could challenge and complete perfectly. Congratulations ! 🎊 Camouflage is painted much better than any others in detail. I was busy doing my job the end of 2021 year but now I have a winter break to take a rest. I pressed 'like'. Take care! Mate!

105th Squadron: Precision ground strike / air to air combat (multirole). F-16 block 40 + indigenous avionics upgrades, Elbit "look and fire" helmet, Rafael Python AIM, and a few other things I can't mention. These jets are used in real world combat scenarios on a regular basis, clocking up loads of combat experience.

Thank you very much, David. I really appreciate your kind words. Colours: That’s a really good question. It’s about 2y since I built the model. The Sidewinders are Tamiya Clear Blue over a white base colour. The AMRAAMs: I guess that’s Light Ghost Grey for the missile body and some darker grey for the fins. But if you have a closer look on references, the fins have a metallic shine, so I guess this darker grey isn’t 100% accurate. I hope that helps you bit. Let me know! Best regards!!!

@davidbel1081 You’re welcome, David. You’re talking about the third one from the left on the video‘s thumbnail, right?! Although it looks like a missile, it’s actually a laser guided bomb. It’s a Paveway. It’s painted in olive drab and blue on the seaker head. But the blue makes only sense, if you want to replicate a training bomb or missile. Live bombs or missiles have yellow bands or markings. But you can paint your Paveways also in grey. Just google it and you get a lot of different variations. I hope that helps you!!! Best regards!!!

Hello and 1000 thanks for this video!! I love aviation of all types, and of course I like this aircraft wich this country where I am also have ( Portugal ). I also love modeling and the israeli version of the F-16 is my favourite.The model you build, is very well build in all ways. Unfortunatly only some minutes ago, I've found this video! This is a great build! At 12:15 when you were filling in the gaps in the air intake you wiped the excess off with a cotton bud, was the cotton bud dipped in water or did you have to use something else? And did you let the putty dry before doing that or did you wipe away the excess right after applying it?

Hello Isaac. Thank you for your comment and sorry for my late reply. I’ve been at RIAT over the weekend. 🥳🥳🥳 Regarding the putty wiping: It depends. When it’s fresh, I just take a dry cotton swab and wipe it away. When it dried, you need a damped (water) cotton swab. I work with the Vallejo Putty, if you use another one it may needs a different handling. But when I remember correct in THIS case I applied the putty and wiped away straight away! Hello, very nice setup! too bad that all the pre-shading work is totally invisible at the end, I would have applied one or two less coats to keep this superb pre-shading work.

Hey PlastikDream, you’re totally right. That is an issue I have to work on. I noticed that, too! 😉 But to be fair, the preshading is luckily more visible in real life. And on the other hand, I tried to replicate the aircraft from Exercise Blue Flag, which was no that weathered at all. But I‘m pretty happy about your feedback. love the video although the soundtrack is extremely annoying. is the Black paint applied before the white a primer and if so can you tell us what brand of paints used. am returning to modelling and building the same kit

Hey Al, thank you very much for your comment and WELCOME BACK to this amazing hobby! 👍 I really do like this synthi-sounds, so I probably stick with it. 😉 But thanks for the feedback! The black is the primer, the white is only for pre-shading. When I built that kit, I still used Vallejo Black Primer, but I do not recommend this primer, as it is constantly clogging the air brush. I use Mr. Surfacer 1500 Black now in combination with Mr. Levelling Thinner. That is a match made in heaven and it makes priming so much easier! But please wear a good mask, when working with this!!! As far as I remember the white is Tamiya XF-2 and the Israeli Camouflage Colors are from AK Real Colors. There is a set with colors for modern Israeli Aircrafts. The product code is RCS052! Im sorry but I personally think that you should not use the Slava Ukraine greeting in your videos. In1947, members of the UPA shot our citizens in the village of Blatnica. So for me it is a very sensitive topic. Its a video about building a aircraft model and not a politics.
