Red deku always did more damage than yellow deku. The only reason why he is seeing playtime now is because it's become easier to output that damage he always did.

Strike deku has had a variety of balance changes. When he first dropped he was bad. He had good damage but that was it and as with strike shigi it takes more than good dmg to become viable. He got 1 extra charge on alpha and gamma at lv1-3 on the afo update. This helped him a little but he still wasn't good. Then the fateful day happened. At the start of season 5 he got a bunch of realky good buffs. 1st, hp 350. Helps a lot for a melee character without armor. This change alone would've been huge but its not all he got. 2nd, beta. Reaching max hight was made much easier. Before this buff using max hight gamma was kinda a meme and basically never viable to do. You didn't get extra dmg and it took too much setup to be viable. They made beta do a extra 10 dmg for each stage of hight for a max of +20 which is a nice buff to the hight strategy. 3rd the bug one. gamma, this change alone would've made old redku top 3. Gamma used to send you basically nowhere and was super slow. Like he would use gamma and then would jump a second later. That jump was also really bad and akin to like endevor special action jumps but slower. It was terrible. After the buff he was suddenly able to fly easily over twice as far and high while also no longer having to wait like a full sec to go up in the air. Genuinely this change was massive for him as he went from low mobility nuke to suddenly top tier mobility nuke. This is coming from someone who mained redku since he cane out day 1

Ever since Full Bullet Deku released, I was a firm believer in this character’s potential, despite the overall hate that people showed towards this guy. And then he started getting quality of life buffs which just made him overall better and capable of keeping up with the other skill sets. He is the one skill set I aggressively grinded for to unlock, and to this day, he is still my main. I might play some Ultra Rumble again in the near future, been pretty obsessed with Marvel Rivals lately. Even with all the hate people give this character, I look at it like this: we live in an era where Hawks, Nejire, Crazy Torch Dabi and Sting Dance Toga exists. Any reason for hating Full Bullet Deku is completely invalidated and irrelevant with these monsters in the game.

As a red deku main, it hurt a little to see you not use your gamma for damage as well lol Since it goes through walls, it would have been helpful for you to use at 4:32 to stop the toga from executing and at it would have hit and probably downed overhaul at 9:04. Obviously you’re still amazing without having to use it but just curious as to why you don’t use it to attack as well
