Even so, the “except stuns” part is bugged to hell. I’ve seen him still immune stuns from certain abilities that clearly states it’s a stun in the description but for some reason he’ll still ignore it like it doesn’t recognize it as a stun.

Mez doesn’t count certain slows work sometimes for unknown reasons, I’ve seen polymorph work then doesn’t in the same game, ares ult works since it’s a stun at the end even tho the pulls first, for all the people complaining tho I don’t see people buying sunder if he’s so difficult to deal with

One thing that I would add to the rant: You can take damage on the horse but only lose your shield. Right before you get dismounted, cancel the horse and use the ability again. And now you have another shield building.

Something I've been doing as a tanky build is picking up shell or some other shield. I max 2-3 and then 4 or 1 depending on how I feel. If you're in a bind, you can shell before you mount up in order to get the fun CC immunities, and by the time they bust through the shell, the mount up shield has a decent amount by now and you can keep running or turn on your enemies

I think you forgot to mention the bug that not even stuns really work on Lancelot horse right now. So far since release I’ve seen the horse immune an ullr axe, fafnir hammer, merc dash, and Ganesha dash.

Base damage is too high for how many abilities he has,before Tuesday which is the patch that nerfs it,you could play him tank and still do 350-410 damage on his 2 and 400-440 damage on his 1 on a squishy. I like him,I really do,it's just that they botched any semblance of counterplay to play by making stuns inconsistent in getting him down his horse so he's essentially CC immune at all times. His ult needs a bigger windup,in no way is an ultimate like that supposed to have insane mobility,safety,and a very tiny window to react. I'd argue he should be able to be stunned/crippled out of it. Lastly,they gave a warrior passive to an assassin because lategame autos will hardly do anything to him if he has built a defense item or two (which he can afford to quite easily as fenrir) He's great in terms of playing as him but playing against him is quite miserable because you honestly have to hope the person playing lancelot is a brain dead monkey or else it's a gg at 15 because he's got several lanes beaten and the jungler basically castrated.

just break his fucking shield and he's dead as hell. That shit has a huge ass cooldown when broken out of. Any burst mage insta dismounts him with their main damage and Hunter crits two shots the shield. The self root should be a bit longer yeah but the guy has not much valuable CC. Also his passive is anything but warrior. It gives you movement speed and attack speed which are both hyper aggressive buffs for assassins. The only thing problematic are his slightly bloated numbers which are on close range abilities btw.

It doesn’t have a “huge ass cooldown” especially considering he can mount and unmount and unless you’re right on top of him, the shield gets up too fast. Not to mention on top of him is exactly where he wants you, and the ult gives the horse back immediately. Then you dismount the horse and his 3 is already back up

the downside for the 3 is neglible if you build him like ravana, ull be so tanky that even if u pop the 3 in their face, they wont take you out, and with such a huge shield with massive def/mitigations, u can casually tank every single tower forever as your team takes it down, and then with his ridiculous base damage, plus a glad shield, he gets 20k+ more damage than anyone else in the game

Recently it came to me during a random match, that Lancelot could "specialize" at fighting other "mounted" characters like Hachiman or Guan Yu, as the only dedicated "jouster" in the cast. Well, there obviously isn't enough of them, but this could be done as *"deals more damage to the CC-immune targets",* or maybe *"throws back if able, deals x1.5-2 more damage if can't".* By these, he'd become a natural counter to many more gods whose ultimates involve a split-second CC-immunity (and often work as "revealing their true monstrous form", so it would fit the concept of the questing knight as well), so his other stats could be toned down accordingly.

Something you didn't mention I believe is that lance also gets immunity frames while dismounting from his horse with the 2, making it similiar to feather step so you can evade big damage ultimates (like in 6:52) for almost free

Every time I play him at least once per game I go “wait I didn’t expect to do that much damage lol”. Burst assassin kits are usually balanced in such a way that they can’t get their 1 shot combo off sacrificing something like their movement ability or ult (thana/thor having to ult in), and then Lancelot just one shots people and then ults out for free. It really feels like he should have to use his ult to effectively burst people that way he is actually risking something

Thana can dump his kit and insta you that way. 2+blink+3+1 and congrats you successfully ganked. Same goes for Thor. He walls, throws hammer and spins and youre dead. They don't need their ults to burst you down in an instant. Burst Assassins statistically kill faster and easier than AA Assassins if they don't build crit or have stims/buffs (Yeah I'm looking at you Arachne and Bakasura). AA Assassins have to go in your face to be effective while the Ability based ones can keep some distance while dumping their kit on you. Lance actually has problems with engaging enemies because he has to go in close if he doesn't use blink or his ult. And mind you that Lance can't use relics while Mounted for some odd reason which in hind sight is a balance decision. Lance is also self rooted while casting the ult so hunters can put him down if they react fast enough. In the end, Lance is like most pubstomp gods in that you either carry the match or you feed your brains out. There is no inbetween. His damage numbers may be bloated but he has it to compete with all the range gods in the game.

The horse shield isnt all that bad. 740 isnt all that much late game. Thats two basic attacks from the hunter. One if they have crit. Even a max horse shield can be obliterated and now half of his damage is gone, and he cant reach the enemy team safely, unless he ults in which means he has no good escape. The only issue with the 3 is the near complete cc immunity. And if you notice, he got one decent damage nerf, and no one complains anymore. I still think other ccs should take him off horse, but it can be done like awilix and suku, where she doesnt lose suku but is still cc’d. Stuns would completely break the horse, while mez, knockback (not knockup) and cripple, (maybe root but that seems iffy) knock him off the horse but the ability goes on cooldown immediately. Like a stun completely breaks the horses resolve and it needs to calm down, whereas the other ccs make the horse stumble and lance falls off, but can get right back on. Do something like this, i think lance would be absolutely perfect. Its the only part of his kit that is actual bs, fix it and he stays really good, but not broken.

I'm so happy someone is talking about this - his CC immunity is dumb. His damage is not inevitable, it's bursty, so aegis an i-frames help and it will get toned down, but that CC immunity and that huge crippling field are simply stupid man. The cripple should be removed, and cripple and roots should affect his mounted stance.

He really comes down to numbers. If the they pull back on the base damage and not make the horse stance immune to all but stun would put him in a good spot. The horse stance should have slow immunity since it makes sense and safe the full CC immunity for the Ult.

Stuns also dont work on horse, played a game of chronos recently and the guy just didnt get stunned. Also when ever he got ccd he would just sit on the horse and instantly cancel it to cleanse the cc

I don't mind the cleanse on Mount Up, but currently not even stuns dismount him: he is (as of yesterday) totally immune to CC and can only be dismounted with damage breaking his shield...which stacks with applied shields like Shell and Geb's Stone Shield.

The horse's blanket immunity to CC's other than stuns is really frustrating as a guardian without stuns, like khepri. Means you can do basically jack shit to catch the guy because you don't havee enough damage to dismount him, so against you he can basically just run around with impunity.

He is really strong right now but I like on release for them to be strong to showcase them. I'm sure his numbers will come down and be more in line with other Assassins. I do think that his horse is way too strong because of of the CC immunity. I think cripples, roots, and slows should still work on him or at least cut that health shield down in cases of cripples and roots. Another issue I see is the passive specifically the movement speed being too high. 40% is really high for having something for free especially since they've been lowering movement speed. I expect to see damage and the movement speed nerfs before too long.

Honestly the only two problems I have with him is the stupid damage and cc immunity. The stupid damage is just what you have to take for granted with a new god so I'm fine putting up with it until they inevitably tone it down. The cc immunity however just feels so unnecessary, as a support main I can say he is absolutely nightmarish to stop him from reaching the backline as he can just waltz in with his horse, use the immunity frames from his leap, and then well it only takes 1 more ability to shatter them. It feels like he can get off just so stupidly easily for going all-out in because he can either engage or escape with utmost ease no matter what. Yes his shield could be potentially broken but I'm gonna be frank, in practice its almost impossible to break the shield before he goes away unless you have a super-range ult like nox or ra. Even if you do, he's potentially still got his 1 and ult so its pretty hard to punish him consistently. I am honestly SUPER down for having more ccs affect getting him off his horse, I'm fine with him having some immunity as long as he's not completely safe against 80% of what you can throw against him.

It's not just his damage it's his utility. He has much more cc, he's tanky, has immunities, mobility, etc. For example you can infinitely dive a tower by just jumping on the horse, draining the shield, then cancelling and jumping back on the horse. He has an absurd amount of utility even if you entirely ignore the damage. Though the damage is kinda crazy. He's also incredibly safe. Ult is an instant full hp shield, a fairly long dash, and all the speed from the horse. So you're basically unkillable. Oppressive maybe not but bloated and OP, definitely. Tsuk was as oppressive as he is because he would basically have to just all in and one shot your team. Lancelot has a much much much more utility than tsuk ever has.

Tbh, to counter his three I have been running very safe characters and high damage mages to knock him off his horse. And if he tries to use ult to run away I try to be ahead of him to cut him off. So I have only had a few problems fighting him. Specifically when running blunestone and defense items. He is definitely overtuned, but he is super fun to play.

5:12 it happens with any game as don't change much that already works, but if you remove the part that makes the ability fun to use(AKA the risk and reward for it), you get a easy to use kit the feels meh, Bakasura kit is too simple, so it leads to the only way to outplay is with statboosting which you don't have to even pay attention to, It gets repetitive. The Team should have kits that fit the god's backstory, on how they would fight rather than fit the role only. Hades should be a guardian if going with his lore, as he prefers defending those he cares for rather than getting a penta.(Smite holds him in a steroetype without adding any of what made hades intersting in the first place, same with thanatos, same with medusa)

As for the character design currently, I'm so on the fence you don't even know there's a fence in the first place. Thing is, I do hate Lancelot as the Arthurian (or rather, Malory) character with a passion, and would not want to touch him with a ten-foot lance. One the other hand, I absolutely _love_ the image of a lance-wielding melee fighter, which is done very rarely in fictional fights. When the hype will settle down and he will get nerfed to oblivion, maybe I'll start playing him imagining that it's Sir Kay - or by then, TitanForge will release a skin with a similar idea, I dunno. Sorry for ranting, everyone.

Lance is broken just abit on the damage but other than that I think he is fine. You said it perfect where if he gets ahead and will slap your team but if he stays at same level as rest of enemy team, the lack of strong cc shows and he just gets slap. That shield means jack squat to a built adc.

Imo the most problematic thing about him isn’t his damage but the fact that he can gain 740 shields TWICE. I am sure many that play Conquest on a daily basis have seen this scenario before, Lancelot uses his horse to engage you in a team fight meaning he already has his shield maxed up, he absorbs a few of your teammate’s abilities/auto attacks through body blocking, he jumps off to kit dump everyone, backs off a bit to recharge the shield which is like 4 seconds, goes back in and kit dumps again, and then when the your team FINALLY manages to lock him down to kill him, he presses his ult, dashes a whole ass lane away, cripples basically the whole lane so no one can jump or dash after him, and then gains another 740 shield just by running away so even if someone caught up they would need to do 740 extra damage just to get him off the horse.

Imagine characters like tyr , nox etc that rely on their cc. Atleast u can catch up with awelix in her cat form. In this case u just simply denied, he also has 700+ hp on top, can easily avoid anything with his leap and i mean anything, can easily catch up TO U, even if u could stun him he still moves infinitly faster so its not that easy anyways and etc. I cant be bothered with smite sometimes.

I was playing sobek and was really fucking confused that i went to pluck lance and he didnt even finish the animation for his horse BUT he got the ability off and i stood there like a tool because my pluck got canceled.

i feel like they should tune his damage down a bit more, make him freezeable in his mount and reduce its max shield to 600 and he will probably be a more balanced god

I’ve seen the freeze work then sometimes not work, I thing they need to look at the code again because a lot off cc is unsure if it wants to proc it not on him

​@@MaouVallkur you might not have fully mounted or the freeze broke the shield but to be honest i dont really know i only found out about near full cc immunity 4 days ago, i usually just used the 2nd mount ability to dodge cc effects. Ill probably test it out

@@freyr399 I see the damage might have done it, I seem to recall I hadnt levelled it past level 1 so it must’ve been that and the cone effect was still travelling so I still got frozen. Interesting interaction

HE IS INMUNE TO ARTEMIS TRAP AND ULTIMATE! Thats conplete BS. Also... slows apply to him while on horse. I feel his horse is not broken but the fact that he can have his horse again after his ult with INSTANT FULL SHIELD is busted.

As always, it's about the player, not the god. I have destroyed the competition with Lance and have fed with Lance. I have seen Lance destroy and be destroyed.

If the 4th Arthurian god is a guardian with stance change with different cc's ill delete Smite imagine a team of 4 who alone has 30ish abilities

I like Lancelot's design, I think he is pretty balanced in a vaccuum. Numbers? Not so much, lol. At least he's not Gilgamesh, I guess?
