1957 Blackstone 350 Automatic washer doing a load of 6 pairs of work pants. These machines are unique in that the timer control is built into the transmission. This was the last Blackstone model that was featured like this. It was also the first washer with a stainless tub. The tub lifts up to do a neutral drain, the only solid tub to do a neutral drain (someone correct me if I'm wrong).
This machine was found NIB back in 2020. I just finished getting it fully functional. This wash load is the 5th wash load the machine has ever had in it. Thank you for Fred G of Mass for selling the two knobs and the stainless top. He also supplied me a service manual.
More videos are coming up. Planning on getting a new phone to streamline uploading and improve video quality. I thank you all for your continued support!

The stainless steel top gives it a really professional look! Also the timer looks super cool with its own back light.

I wonder how something the size of a washer disappeared for 63 years before being "found". I'm glad that it happens occasionally or we wouldn't have these pristine examples of rare machines. Did an appliance store lose it in a warehouse for many years only to find it when they were going out of business and liquidating all inventory? I've also heard stories of people buying an appliance brand new with plans for it and the plans fell through so the machine just sat in the box unused in someones garage or basement for decades and ended up being sold at an estate sale. Whatever this machines story is you are a lucky man to have such a rare make of washer in perfect working order and in like new condition.

If I say so myself, there aren’t that many stainless steel washers and dryers available now, even though they seem to be more commonplace now than they were in 1957.

It would be nice to see a detailed vid of the mechanism and how it lifts the tub ect.

I don’t know why, but the way this machine operates reminds me of a Whirlpool and even sounds like a Whirlpool when it’s in neutral drain with the way the mechanism sounds in neutral.

My father opened the first Speed Queen coin laundry in our town in 1958. The washers had a solid stainless tub, The water was forced out through a tube attached to the tub bottom. That was a problem as that tube filled with sand and lint that had to be cleaned out. I don't know when SQ went to a perforated tub. The agitator was cast aluminum. Also had an overflow rinse so socks floated over the tub edge . These socks could get sucked into the pump. Can I say they were a problem machine, SQ was owned by McGraw Edison and American Laundry Machinery in those days. Now by Alliance Laundry Systems, a large commercial laundry manufacturer making several brands.
