A full cycle video for the 1965 GE Filter-Flo. Doing a load of whites, this machine did quite well despite having a ton of suds. Hopefully you all enjoy the video! Thank you for watching.

What a great washing machine.. Love the faster ark and the Way the clothes really get moved around.. Excellent agitation.. I wish washing machines were still like this today. Love the control panels from that era, how they lit up and were aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Not like the H E CRAP TODAY, that don't get your clothes clean or stains out using just two cups of water... I could watch this machine agitate all day..

Front-load washers are better than the agitator, top load agitators, and even the ones without are TRASH. The top-load without agitator only washes with friction, the agitator washes with agitator and they will cost you money because of the amount of water it uses and detergent plus the early wear and tear your clothes go through..Front-load HE washers will evenly distribute the detergent, save you water, and drain the clothes very well AND take good care of your clothes. If you don't use cheap detergent, you'll realize that modern-day detergents saves a LOT you don't need so much detergent, I accidentally spilled Tide detergent on my hand and when I was rinsing it off..OH LORD it took time...That is what makes HE so good, you use less detergent, less water while distributing, maybe more time rinsing, but less water.

I have to admit that these ramps were probably the best agitators that GE used. They seemed to switch back and forth between ramps and straight vanes over the years. The straight vanes were effective agitators also but these ramp agitators REALLY pulled the load under quickly. Definitely dirts worst nightmare.

Hotpoint UK Top loading autos and twin tubs both had short sweep spiral agitators. Called "Spirolators or Spiroclean" Cant remember now. No-one in the UK makes a tub type top load agitator auto or twin tub now. Just as well too. The Hotpoint Liberator used 45 Gallons of water to wash a 10LB load of laundry. Wash and two rinses. Front loaders are WAY more efficient washing better using much less water. I know as i have both. The front loader cleans my oily overalls better than the top loader

Winston Shelton invented, engineered, patented vintage appliance parts like General Electric washing machines, including Filter Flo pan, Mini-Basket, mechanism to automatically provide correct Water Level at desired temperature during Wash cycles; and could easily remove and clean soiled trap that strained insoluble dirt and debris as the unit’s water became filtered during Wash and Rinse cycles. He also invented some anti-siphonage inlet system to avoid back contamination of any water supply and some drain overflow arrangement for built-in washing machines that provided safe means of dealing with excess water during operation. He also installed some type of Telechron synchronous clock motor inside General Electric washing machines with a geared cam ticking control mechanism around it, which ticked during Pause portion and worked in various brands like Maytag, Amana, Frigidaire, Kenmore, Whirlpool.

I remember my grandmas GE filter Flo. I use to stand and watch it wash clothes 😂 i have been fascinated every since. I always wanted to add her powders in the filter and watch it suds up. And I loved the way her laundry smelled always so clean and fresh. She made her own powders out of borax and baking soda her whites were always extremely bright white!! Our machines these days suck big time I’d love to have an older machine!!

Whenever you have a washing machine that has a manual lymph filter where the waters being put back into the tub during the agitation you will be able to cut way back on your detergent because you just can't put as much in there it'll make way too much suds and then there's a vinegar in the rinse water which will help out great
@Dog-Lover36
@Dog-Lover36 3 жыл бұрын
You made some typo, which was lint filter. Lymph means any colorless fluid containing white blood cells which bathe the tissues and drains through the lymphatic system into the bloodstream. A lymph node or gland is actually some kidney-shaped organ of the lymphatic system. A large number of lymph modes are linked throughout the body by the lymphatic vessels. The lymphatic or lymphoid system is an organ system in vertebrates that is part of the circulatory and immune system, which is made up of large network of lymph, lymphatic vessels, lymph nodes, lymphatic or lymphoid organs and lymphoid tissues. The vessels carry a clear fluid called lymph (the Latin word lympha refers to the deity of fresh water “Lympha”) towards the heart.

If it breaks, you will have to get a new machine. I don’t think GE sells any parts for Filter Flos anymore. I think they all got discontinued. As a result, the parts are nearly impossible to find now online. The parts have all since got discontinued. Even for the newer knock off direct drive GEs, once the transmission fails, you have to replace the whole machine as GE discontinued that part. They still sell all parts for the HydroWave I believe.

I hate the new washers of today. The HE ones suck. I bought a Speed Queen in 2017 before they changed their design, and it’s about as close to “old school” as I could get, in this time era. If GE started making these filter-flo washers again tomorrow with this same quality, I’d go buy three or four of them. These things rocked.

Some early top load washers manufactured in Germany contained Water Heater feature. Whirlpool Malley washing machines were manufactured in Australia during the late 60’s up until the late 80’s. Heat Temperature settings on those Whirlpool models occurred by filling with water until heat became satisfied. Once it got into temperature, that cycle would proceed for any Direct Drive model. That Water Heater feature on those very first Maytag Neptune electronic front loaders was for optimizing cleaning performance with any temperature. Whenever that feature was turned on, Water Heater would help maintain water temperature during the Wash cycle. Stain cycle on those very first Maytag Neptune front loaders would add time to Wash & Rinse cycles for better stain removal and automatically providing 4th Rinse, which was for removing laundry additives and perfumes. Most washing machines with Steam cycle contains internal heater that heats water into steam and injects mist into the tub. Steam cycle helps remove wrinkles, make detergent work more efficiently, sanitize fabrics. Pre-Wash phase: while water loads into wash tub, steam works with the water by helping soak fabrics more thoroughly. During washing phase, whenever adding while detergent is mixed with water, steam increases the temperature of the wash tub to improve cleaning power, which also helps to activate detergent, which happens by dissolving detergent more efficiently to get the most out of it as possible. Post-Wash Phase: Steam added after washing lends more high temperature to the tub to sterilize fabrics. It also softens clothing to remove tough wrinkles that formed while clothing becomes tossed into tub. Steam can loosen dirt from fibers and help with stain removal, which is similar to pretreatment. Deep cleaning with steam has been proven to be somewhat effective in stain removal and could make Pre-Soak and Enzyme Soak cycle a thing of the past.
