The video was obviously done fondly, with a lot of patience and addiction! The background gives a quite nice contrast to the animal, and all the details can be seen quite well. I think would be a good idea to take the movie continuously and change parts of it thereafter for time lapse or slow motion, in order to see f.i. how the wings unfold after emergence of the pupae etc.

Fascinated by the Monarch I planted «Asclepias» in our back yard and had three births before my eyes. Unfortunately one was handicaped and cannot fly normaly with abnormal wings. It remains quite safely under my care in the flowers. Here in Southern California where I do welcome thoughts from Cracovia. Funny for me as my French grand daughter just arrived in this beautiful town to start her career. Best from Hemet, CA. I will try to add some pictures below.

Grace Song check out insect classifieds, while there are potential scammers (so be careful) it gives you a much wider range than most other websites. There's livestock and dead stock there, I've gotten 2 calleta silk moth cocoons, 3 promethea moth cocoons, and 3 automeris metzli (look them up they're beautiful.) I have seen the species of moth in the vid being sold on insect classifieds too!

@FLCLnTVBOY You can see that the pupa is changing in color from light green to deep brown. Simply chitin is hardening preparing tight house for a winter time. After a few weeks or even eight months (depending on the geographical region) the chitin breaks releasing the buterfly.

At 18:10 the abdomen of the chrysalis is visibly translucent, and you can see what appear to be granules under the surface of the outer layer. What are these? The creature can wriggle so it possesses muscles still, are those other internal organs that have dissolved?
@groszek13you9 жыл бұрын
+Scrath Folchester Hi! The tissue pupae, directly after the final instar are formed, as can be seen clearly white and regular cells that are lipids. Regards, Adam

Not ALL moths do Silk cocoons, inside the silk cocoons have the pupae ,that moth don't turned into chrysalis It turned into pupae, chrysalis normaly stay up side down on a leaf o stick "im Brazilian and i don't know how to whrite some things"
@mothdoc19094 жыл бұрын
As novas cristal gems you're doing a good job, learning a different language is hard. Chrysalids are also different from pupae in how they look, pupa are all dull and brown whilst chrysalids can be much prettier/decorated.
