I feel we are so fortunate that there are passionate people out there willing to not only capture but also share these wonderful feats of nature that many of us would never have known about. The cinematography is truly stunning considering when these little caterpillars are born they are so incredibly tiny (5-10mm x 0.5mm) plus it takes a lot of patience to actually capture the moment when they moult.

In my opinion, this species is one of nature's most profound examples of the beauty it offers!!! Luna moths are the rare gems of the winged insect world, closely partnered by some mantis species... Really amazing!!!!
@tjtheentertainer93766 жыл бұрын
Megix Cosmix I agree! I love how with each molting, the caterpillar has a different body coloration. It makes them very pretty even before their metamorphosis
Luna moths are one my favorites, however, my number 1 fave is the Madagascan sunset moth.

Also, if possible the scientific names of the food plants for each moth. And their territorial distribution. No, he just cuts open the protective housing (cocoon) made of bark and silk by by the moth to “hide” from predators, because it looks much more inconspicuous than a big bright green chrysalis (the actual pupae) out in the open. Doesn’t harm the moth.
