It's weird seeing those guys in such a dangerous work environment wearing flip-flops or even barefoot. Replacement labor must be cheap.

They had to build a little "Safety box" around the wheel to keep bare feet from going under the wheel. With that log on there, that thing would cut your foot off.

I am amazed that the mill has not burned to the ground (worker smoking) or that people have not lost limbs or been sawn in half by positioning themselves close to the blade. Blades can break and people do trip and fall. Just a matter of time.

An L70? What for? The saw they have will cut it obviously, and it is probably more powerful and a bigger longer blade. What they need is a forklift or something mechanized to move the logs. There are a few kinds of Mahogany, and this one is decent. Don't see any burl or figure, but decent.

@thomasirwin52352 жыл бұрын
Nonsense. They'll be shut down in blink if these working conditions existed in my country. The safety of workers is completely ignored. What safety helmet, steelcap boots and ear muffs are you dreaming up? The truth is this is blatant worker exploitation and these employers should made unaccountable.

@patrickdean48532 жыл бұрын
It’s not ancient. By the looks of it, it was not healthy and may well have fallen over (not that it really matters). Note the extent of the ring shake and rot in the log. If the tree rots in the woods, it is worth nothing to the land owner.
