You don’t understand how many other helicopters there are, especially the police helicopters, and they all have to coordinate with each other, with the police getting the lowest air space. These pilots are flying up to 2500 feet above the event, and when near an airport, there are no fly zones, so a tree is the least of their worries.

Stunts like these are the only way a swift driver can get hired once they go owner operator. He probably drove for swift because he couldn't afford his own rig, and when he thought he saved enough to get a loan the bank was like, "no way in hell we are financing for a former swift driver." Thus his saga to prove his worth was born. They say he recreates this event every year with the prison food supply truck to this day, in hopes of redeeming his mistake of signing up with swift.

Yeah, that gets me almost as much as politicians and journalists using "nucular" (nook'-yoo-ler) instead of the correct pronunciation of "nuclear" (noo-clee-er).

At the end the expectedly dumb commentators mention that they dont know what kind of hazardous materials are on the truck. That they have labels on the back. And they havnt seen them. Actually, they are not labels they are square placards turned on their points. (diamond looking) They are required to be on all 4 sides of the trailer. And at 11:51 you can clearly see them on the front of the trailer. A quick note about the trailer first. It has multiple placard holders, meaning its used for LTL (partial shipments) of different hazmat materials, at least some of the time. Now, what we can see on the front of the trailer is a red with white horizontal bar placard which can only be a "danger" placard. This is used when the quantity of that particular material is below 500 lbs and a full placard for it is not needed. Then we can spot two black and white placards. unfortunately the quality is not high enough to determine exactly what they are but we can at least tell they are either class 6 poison, or class 9 miscellaneous placards. (i thought maybe class 8 corrosive, but they have a solid black bottom half and these appear to be white top and bottom.) knowing theres multiple placard slots with three of them being used, its highly likely its one of each a class 6 and class 9 placard. And at least 500lbs or more of each. The rules for transporting hazmat means that LEO would have been able to have found out from the trucking company what and in what quantity was on that trailer with just a phone call. In addition to rules for keeping the Bill of ladings and hazmat material information sheets within arms reach from the drivers door of the tractor and plainly visible, the company would have had copies of all of it on file. source: Truck driver, used to do hazmat in van trailers occasionally. fun bonus fact. This fellow of unknown certification or training to drive a truck kept right except to pass, WHILE being chased better and more often than pretty much all dumb car drivers.
