Lifelong resident of GR here. That was great to watch, I never knew of Max's South Beach Hideaway before. Fantastic overview of my city...it's funny you mentioned the Pantlind Hotel as a movie set because it actually was for a movie called, "The Steam Experiment", starring Val Kilmer and Armand Assante. There was about a 4 year period where Hollywood used Grand Rapids as a backdrop for many movies. "30 Minutes Or Less", "The End Of The Tour" and a few movies by 50 Cent.

Now Grand Rapids is known for the most alcoholics in the country and I don't know how that can be a good thing

I see nothing but improvements and I was born in Blodgett Hospital over 68 years ago. What don't you like?

I agree and also wonder how anyone (in replies to you) spent 68 years there and thinks things got better. Better for who? That's my hometown and we had to move up north to finish raising our kids in relative peace. I was also born in old Blodgett (the first building) myself
