Um... you can't just ex out the whole family when a molestation issue comes out. You get the cops involved, make sure that family member can't see the child and have "supervised" visits with the family, you don't just cut the people who aren't accused of anything out. I wouldn't trust my kid around his family either because I have a feeling that his family is one of those "sweep it under the rug" type of families by the way they are reacting. I also come to that conclusion because they didn't imply or mention whether this individual was prosecuted/convicted for molesting a child. I get where she is coming from as far as protecting the kids. Since it was a family member that is someone you should be able to trust not to hurt your babies, after a betrayal like that I'd be scared to let my babies out of my sight again. If the child molester is not in prison, she may be worried that if his family has her kids the may allow the molester around again. Most families don't want to believe their loved one could hurt a child, some of them may not even believe the kid was molested. If I was her I'd start slowly with the more immediate family (like his parents) coming to the house for visits and progress from there. I hope the child got consoling and is doing okay :(

Unfortunately she does have to allow the kids to see that side of the family, because it's unfair for the KIDS to be denied a relationship with the family members that actually love and keep them safe. HOWEVER, supervised visits and spending time in public places in groups would be best. And if the child is old enough to know they've been touched inappropriately, they're old enough to consent to whether or not they feel comfortable hanging around that family. So give that child the option and operate safely and closely if need be. She owes that family NOTHING, especially if they protected or denied the predator's guilt. But its not ok to deny her kids their family if they aren't in the wrong.

I really dont blame her for how she feels towards the family cause of the molestation allegation. she has to protect her babies period, but judge Toler made a good point, let them come see the kids and you can have control over the visits. I wouldn't let my children go away from me either so those individuals are gonna have to come to us. hopefully they can heal thru the situation and have some semblance of a functioning relationship between her and the family.
