People think forgiving means you want to reconnect. Not necessarily. If the individual is toxic, move on. No need for these persons to be in your life at all. It's their issue, not yours. Also, they may not be toxic but just not a match for what you want out of a relationship, whether its family or not. No explanation needed. Not everyone is going to be friends or close and that's ok. Being civil with one another, if they just so happen cross your path again, is fine.

Secondly, a child is produced from a mother and a father, whilst the mother was not great, a father being non existent is also just as damaging because where were you?? If the mother was lacking, then the father should be able to step up and get those kids together. No reason why a 10 year old should be fixing bottles and changing nappies for her mothers kids. cause she was immature and acting out of selfishness since she was a child. if Precious is 29, her mom was 19 with two kids. She had the oldest daughter when she was 15. Clearly no one taught Alicia vital parts of womanhood like love, discernment, & nurturing or how to mother cause she didn’t have one herself. It’s hard to hold her accountable to her ignorance of motherhood since she was a child without a support system or healthy female role models

The oldest child carries the heaviest load because in our culture the oldest child is the mom in her absence so I can imagine her anger towards the mom because these are your children and a thank you would have been nice or I appreciate you having my back, but when a mother doesn't accept she failed it triggers an anger in a child that would be in her relationship with her partner and friendship, she will shut out everyone because if I don't need my mother I don't need anyone.

This is why I love my sisterwife my family is toxic and opted for polygamy to build my own family. Some black folks think it’s taboo but I don’t bc it was how we lived before slavery and my sisterwife is my helpmate and my best friend, we live in the same home and share a husband. Her babies are mines and vice versa. Even though we get judgement from self righteous Christian women who’s marriages are falling apart.....our marriage is solid and we have a sisterhood nobody can come in between. She always encourages me and she never gets jealous of my wins. I love my spiritual polygamous family.

Watching here and there over the last few years and listening to her tell it, she realized that most who reach out for healing now are not coming to heal. They are coming to be seen and or to have someone to abuse for their pains. We cannot expect her to take that. She had taken enough. Many rolled up knowing what she is about and her methodology and when the cameras are on they refuse to participate, cuss her out, and carry on then go on their social media with gripes for likes after and trauma bond over being toxic with followers who are also unhealed and loving it. If this was happening first season OK y'all did not know how it was gonna be and just tried something that ultimately was not for you. Finding your healing path sometimes takes several tries. The fact that they were asking to work with her then behaving as tho they were blindsided and mistreated screams of folk exploiting her and her process at this point cu its been too long she's been at this. She was never for everybody. She did not deserve the hate and being called out her name for tryin to help folk who called out to her tho and so she said she has had enuf. Good. I got tired of seeing her used and dishonored myself.

I do think shows like this encourages viewers to seek therapy, however, this particular show has a history of doing more harm than good to those featured. This show helped me realize that my relationship with my mom is not normal. She was very emotionally co-dependent on me as a child/teenager, and I couldn’t even tell her about my friends because she didn’t care to remember their names. (No these are not the only problems) After getting a job at 16 and rarely spending time with her, then discovering this show, it made me resentful towards her. It made it me realize all of the trust and anxiety issues that it gave me. I’m still in the process of forgiving and melding the relationship. Its hard when she doesn’t listen or want to change.

Secrets in families & holding in experiences are truly a detriment to healthy growth & happiness in letting go of the trauma & drama. I can see the emptiness, disappointment, numbness, frustration, confusion & the anger in the older sister's eyes...that's unfortunate that she didn't have anybody to trust in & vent to. The cycle of dysfunction & trauma is real. Man this is one of the toughest episodes to watch...watching these are like watching your own family story or those that you know. This shows that no matter how good someone looks or seems like they're doing...you never know the internal struggle they're going thru unless they're willing to confide in you.
