To the skipper of the bjorn 2, Linda Greenlaw, just because you may come back with no fish or a small load doesnt mean you should lose your boat or your position. You are a veteran of the sea and you proved yourself many years as a Captain and sword fisherperson. Sometimes fishing doesnt go the way you want but thats why they call it fishing. You also survived the perfect storm and that in itself speaks of your seamanship so hold your head high and be proud because you deserve it and youve earned it. Im a seafarer myself from Canada having sailed many years on the geeat lakes and you are a hero of mine. Thanks Captain Linda!!!😊

She thinks her 💩 don't stink and is only a " legend" because of a movie. Most people in the industry don't like her. And this would be her second year not making money. If she was so great she would have her own boat and not have to work for other boat owners.

and 10years later, people will be wondering why it is so hard to catch sailfish... No offense, i do love watching it, its like wicked tuna, dramatic, fun, and challenging.. But, in my country, in most country in south east Asia, sailfish is protected animal according to the law.. So, when you catch a sailfish, you are not allowed to bring it home or cook it or kill it, so you have to release the fish again,... Let's say in Kuala Rompin (Malaysia), its easy to get a sailfish since the law is applied there.. Im a not a fisherman, but i do love fishing.. When you catch sailfish with rod, its incredibly amazing, seeing the fish fights back at you, jumping up and running away from your boat, it's an amazing moment you aint gonna get daily.. So when the fish finally gave up, we dont drag the fish to our boat, but we only take pictures while the fish still in the water, then we release it back.. So in future, our grandchildren will have the chance to experience those moment again.. But the way i see American catches those fish, you wont see sailfish anymore in 20-30years later.. You might, but it wont be as much as what you can get today.. And please, dont bring your boat to South East Asia in future if you are running out of sailfish, we will ensure you our sailfish wont end up on your boat.. Just keep shooting your channel from your soil... Cheers!
@philjr57144 жыл бұрын
These aren’t sailfish. Swordfish. Both bill fish but different species. Good on you guys for the rules on sailfish. We protect our marlin now and bluefin tuna quota is way down. We need to get rid of long liners still. Rod and reel fishing is sustainable. Not long line.

It might be regulated, but it's damn sure not policed, i have know enforcment officers and they bust a small portion of the cheating, but there is no way they can get them all. @@redflametechYou're leaving one very important factor out of that lengthy rant … DATA! Do you really think those amped up scientists/animal crusaders are going to let a species of animal go extinct because of (in this instance) overfishing? If they had their way, there would be no hunting or fishing, PERIOD. My gawd, last I checked the gator was still on the protected species list, backed by huge penalties for poaching. I'm 5th generation Floridian so I've met your type in abundance. Your problem (as a sport fisherman) is not the "slaughtering of a species" from an ecological standpoint, but rather from a "that's less fish to put on my boat" standpoint. I get that, I do. But, your weekend boat isn't contributing near to the economy that the commercial fishing boats are. It's a balance that neither side will ever be completely happy with, unfortunately. The snowflake remark was made because you did not express your gripe in enough detail, therefore your post resembled that of an uneducated tree hugger. Just a misunderstanding, I believe.
