Anthony Joshua is a protected fighter. The ref Marcus McDonnell tried to save him from Dubois' beat down. Howard Foster and Steve Grey were two of the judges for AJ Vs DDD. They both tried to rob Usyk against Anthony Joshua. Ref Luis Pabon allowed Anthony Joshua to hit Usyk with 20 lowblows, rabbit punch in the 9th and shoulder slam in the 12th

As a Brit who was brought up watching the great American heavyweights of the 80s and 90s I must say I am very proud to see that for the last 10’years or so, the depth of talent in the UK has been fantastic. Seeing Teddy break down an all British world title fight (of which there have now been many) is a privilege.

I saw the true colors of AJ already when he was an amateur: at the London Olympics he was schooled by Savon and later clearly beaten by Cammarelle. In 2011 he was ragdolled and stopped by a short, fat, clumsy, but fearless and aggressive romanian construction worker. AJ is scared like Hell by pressure fighters with power and hand speed, since he can not trade on the backfoot and his defence collapses, together with his morale.
@CraigMansfield
@CraigMansfield Ай бұрын
Exactly. His morale. If things don't go his way, he seems to want to pack up and go. Not thinking that it's just the way boxing goes and you fight to the end. And more importantly he needs multiple strategies so when one doesn't work he's got another. Can't take a punch. Dubois got clouted with a huge right and stayed up.

I think this again shows that activity is very important look at the development Dubois has gone through and he's had 4 fights in 18 months. I think it could be a smart move to fight Parker and then the winner of Usyk vs Fury. Keeping up the activity will be useful against guys who fight once a year, especially against a great experienced boxer with a unique style. Interesting fact James Braddock The Cinderella Man, was considered retired in the 1930s because he didn't fight for 9 months, they thought he'd never be able to compete at a top level again because of that extended time off.
@firstnamelastname-bu1xm
@firstnamelastname-bu1xm Ай бұрын
I think theres a quiet argument to be had that maybe an undefeated record is a thing of the past. And I bet if every boxer knew it was easier to come back after a defeat they would progress as fighters and try new things. Rocky marciano retired undefeated, and its looked on as iconic- possibly by promoters selling fights- introducing their latest undefeated guy... and then he loses and his stock is gone...it doesn't need to be that way.
@Alex-cw3rz
@Alex-cw3rz Ай бұрын
@@firstnamelastname-bu1xm the start of Journeyman and undefeated fighters actually came in 1973 after Joe Frazier vs Ali which was the first heavyweight world title fight against two undefeated boxers, that's almost 100 years from the first title fight. Before then win loss ratios didn't matter what mattered was your performance in the ring. It's why James Braddock the Cinderella Man was able to come back after 26 loses and win the heavyweight world title. Even with Rocky Marciano he fought an 8-0 in his 3rd fight and a 14-0 in his 4th. I totally agree this idea of a loss losing a boxer stock is really damaging the sport. Another example is James Braddock the style used by one of the people that defeated him was the one he used to win the title. And going in and losing can teach you so much. For example Ezzard Charles in his 18th fight fought a former world champion with 127 wins 9 loses and 29 draws. He had more draws than Charles had fights. Of course Charles lost but those 10 rounds will have taught him so much more than 20 journeymen would.

I think it's because Turki wants to set up a superfight between AJ and Fury at Wembley for all the belts. DD can't really sell a fight can he, personality of a plank of wood unfortunately, 80k of those fans came to see AJ beat him. If it's Usyk then they already fought in Poland for a crowd of 40k, doesn't really compare as a spectacle does it. Fury AJ would fill Wembley, the atmosphere would be epic, and there would be a great promo leading up to it.

Wilder, who's best win is an old Ortiz? Fury beat the same older version of Klitschko that Joshua beat ( in a much better fight) - yet you've always highly rated Fury?! Who's Joshua beat? Well Alexander Povetkin ( who you trained for a period) AND Joseph Parker, who's NOW more highly regarded than when he was WBO champ. I don't hear many people calling Joshua 'a great' & i'm British (but i don't drink much tea & eat muffins or whatever!!). Joshua, is just as unpopular in the UK AS POPULAR - get your facts & perseptions ACCURATE. Dubois is British. As i said at the start, you have a NARRATIVE that suits, its NOT factual. Credit to Dubois for a great fight. Joshua didn't 'turn up' - thats HIS problem. Remember how ill judged your opinion of Martin Bakole was?? Tyson Fury will be better in the rematch ) and for me he was clearly Winning until he started to show off in the 8th round Soon as he gets hit hard in his nose which got him a Nose Bleed he went down Hill Before 8th he’s totally in control From SHEFFIELD ENGLAND 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧 Uks Number 1 Fight City

dont forget that Usyk too will be better in the second fight. Fury realistically speaking only won 4 round against Usyk and that was 3 to 6. round 7 Usyk landed more than Fury and 8 like you stated thats when Fury got hit on the nose and usyk won every round after. Not saying Fury cant win the rematch but I struggle to see how he does win it because trying to use size on Usyk doesnt really work because not only can he fight on the front foot like he did with Fury and pretty much bully a man who was nearly 40 pounds heavier and 5 inches taller, He can stick and move like he did with Joshua so leaning on him won't work. For me I think Fury will have to go in and just throw everything early and try to get him out of there ASAP and if it doesnt work before round 7 thats it done because he cant outbox Usyk. But I cant wait for the rematch. Still very much a 50/50 fight for me

@@TreyBlogHD I totally agree with you I think it’s a 50/50 fight for me I think you have to have Usky as the favourite if I’m being honest but you can’t write Tyson fury off I just know he will be better this time

@MarkPitsmoorOwl will be interesting to see who adjusts better. I'm putting my money on Usyk just because it's a safer bet but I don't think anyone can call a winner really. Either way I can't wait to see it

People are saying AJ couldn't do the basics. Well be chose not to because he could see it wasn't going to work because Dubious has a great jab and Dubois was not respecting AJs fejnts. DDD simply looked a level above AJ. Credit to Dubois

I think the problem with your argument on who has he beaten is if you can say that about Joshua, you have to say it about the entire heavyweight division, he's fought who he had to when he had to do it. Unless you want to say he hasn't fought Wilder, nothing about that fight would have changed your argument, he's not a great fighter, and the Fury fight never got made. It just comes back to styles make fights. We have 2 really stylish fighters in the division, Usyk and Fury, that's it, the rest are just hitters or tanks or both, and against those guys, Joshua has a 50/50 or slightly better chance. It's rarely ever been any different, there's only a couple of really great fighters at any one time.

Doesn’t Teddy think Fury is a great fighter? If that’s the case, can Teddy expand on who Fury beat or even better can he expand on who Wilder beat if he thinks Wilder is a great fighter . He can also compare all 3 fighter’s resume and tell us who has the best resume and why.

AJ has done more than Ken Norton who's in the IBHOF & considered a great. Big George ran through Frazier in 2 rounds, then smashed him again in the rematch. Smokin Joe never got it back. Stop it. The man went out swinging. Come back with your shield or go out on it. WTF? This is boxing 🥊👍🏿💯

Monsieur Dubois says, "Aurevoir Joshua!" Hype job. Boxing skill deficiencies and inability to make adjustments on the fly. A bit slow and robotic. The Frank Bruno of his era. Fought and defeated a few geriatric aged out fighters like Klitschko. Joshua should be shamed for elder abuse! Comeback fights were an illusion. Average cherry picked opponents. No improvement. Two options for Joshua. Retire or a career in the WWE!

Teddy, your boxing picks or analysis of fights are not the best, thankfully I don't listen to your picks & back my own judgement, I'm no big time gambler & yeah I get it wrong more often the right, but this fight I had Dubois by KO & to win by KO rounds 5 to 8, got lucky on the rounds & I reckon if they rematch DDD will win it a lot quicker

DD wasn’t meant to win, what I mean by that is it wasn’t in Turkis frank or Eddie’s plans for him to win , I knew this from round one with that horrible ref in favour of AJ.. they wanted aj to win to set up the fury match … so in the rematch I wouldn’t be surprised if some dodgy stuff goes on like DD and his team getting paid to lose the fight,because right now Turki is the promoter and Eddie and frank are the fighters managers and if a fighter doesn’t wanna go along with turkis plans then they’re out of this Riyadh season circle.. I hope I’m wrong though and DD comes back and finishes AJ in the same way as the first time

Nah, Teddy is just spouting American nonsense. Parker Povetkin and Ruiz were all good wins. Pulev and Walin were both useful. Even Martin went on to have a few decent wins after the Aj fight. Aj probably has the second best resume at HW after Usyk.

Yeah I think AJ has learned loads after Ruiz, completely different fighter now. But I think AJ switched off. Things happen so fast in the ring and once you start day dreaming the right hand comes. I don't know why AJ fights. Fine, become 3 time world champ but why? It's not a good enough reason in my book. But if he said i want to prove to myself i can beat the best. That gives him purpose. That x factor , eye of the tiger all that. Im excited to see whats next and the next chapter in his story.
