Couldn’t agree more. Usyk is a gent. He could have inflicted serious damage on Fury but he let him off the hook. After the ninth, he had it in the bag. He knew it. it was a KO fight. The good little man ‘schooled’ the good big man. Giving away 2.5 stone, 7” reach advantage - what a performance, what a boxer - can’t give him enough plaudits. True champ.

Usyk won by EIGHT rounds to 4. And I was being kind to Fury. It cannot be possible that a wbc judge had Fury winning it. That judge should be sat down in a court of law and be made to tell the world exactly why he scored certain rounds to fury. Because the one’s Fury lost he definitely lost them. The scoring was quite easy really. Usyk 8 to Fury’s 4.

How many fights have we seen a fighter taking punishment and the ref jumps in to save him, and we saw Fury taking WAY more than most in round 9, and that was even before he went down, yet the ref jumped in to save Fury- not from punishment- but to save him from LOSING the fight. That was a referee humanity stoppage if ever I saw one. The ref also saw fury holding ropes and hitting (twice) hitting LOW numerous times and hitting the back of Usyks head, NOT ONE WARNING the whole fight. This needs to be looked into.

It’s boxing history that mate. It’s a heavyweight title fight, it’s how it’s been since the start. You count out a champion. End of story! On the night I could see maybe someone giving him 4 rounds but the first 3 rounds he was landing on Usyks gloves and arms and wiffing. You can even hear the gloves hitting gloves when he throws. Even round 4 might have been Usyks but the camera angles made it hard for me To see if he was hitting gloves still. In the end 9-3 for Usyk plus the knockdown is what it was and if someone has a better angle for round 4 maybe 10-2 for Usyk. Fury’s pretty good. Of course his size makes him get away with stuff he normally wouldn’t but it also makes him use less skills than what he actually has cause he relies on it. Hes definitely really good though.

Usyk being 6.3 with an 78 reach actually makes him better than if he was bigger or taller. The ideal heavyweight has always been around 6.1-6.3/6.4 and weighing 210-240 pounds. Neither Fury, Joshua and the other bigger heavyweights today can match his footwork, speed, cardio, elusive activity and pace while being bigger, which favors Usyk big time.
@MrJonnyl1237 ай бұрын
He would be a lot slower at that size tho so it’s swings and roundabouts

Excellent analysis, Teddy. Fury should hire you for a month asap so he can work on those points. I'll just add 1) he needs increase his punching endurance as his output is far below Usyk's and 2) time his output so it's especially strong in the last 30 seconds of every round (as Ali often did) - in close rounds this can tilt the judges' opinion of who won the round.

I saw a comment saying it's the equivalent of the smaller Charlo vs Artur Beterviev, and Beterbiev running away, showboating, throwing a few bodyshots then getting knocked out and saved by the referee. Oh and then saying he won and that the judges were biased because of geopolitics

Great to hear proper commentary well done Teddy ! Tyson bossed many rounds and is capable of beating Usyk - he lost his Rythm and I take nothing away from Usyk. Cant wait for rematch. Both are future hall of famer's

Usyk is such a true professional. All business and is looking for any little advantage. He reminds me of Marvin Hagler. No real weaknesses. Hes older than Fury but i don't think he's had a cookie in 20 years. 😂 Fury feels past his best physically.

Maybe 7th too but Usyk is a very clear winner imo. 8-4 with a 10-8 so 116-111. 115-112 was barely acceptable but nothing closer than that.

I agree with you 4/5/6 were easy wins for Fury. Fury threw wild looping right hands after the Jab and almost knocked Usyk out. Problem was Fury did not throw his right hand in any of the other 9 rounds. I was yelling at my TV “ Throw the god damn right hand Tyson”. But for some strange reason Tyson only threw that right hand for 3 rounds. Very disappointing

Uysk won fair and square, but let's get real fellas. Uysk is not a big puncher, he has a zero knock-out % in the heavy weight division. The only reason he was able to nearly knock out fury is because furys punch resistance has gone after getting hit with bombs that would kill most men by wilder. Do u remember that right hand that hit fury and it sent a shock wave through his body!!! Fury is not immortal, u can only get hit with so many of those before it starts taking its toll. That's not an excuse for fury, he lost end of, but it does explain how someone who took countless nukes from a killer knock out artist nearly got knocked out by a much smaller cruiser weight who in comparison to wilder is a pitter patta boxer.

Whilst I saw Usyk as the clear winner, it was close. Usyk took Fury to places he hadn't been before, but Fury also took Usyk to places he hadn't been before also. Having said that, Fury did appear to benefit from the ref. He got the benefit of a butt (accidental I am sure but still) that caused a cut on Usyk's forehead. A proportion of the punch stats for Fury were not scoring punches (on the gloves/blocked) but appear to have been called in his favour nevertheless and he used the ropes to punch Usyk several times, which I feel sure is against the rules (correct me if I am wrong). And no warning for at least one blow that was too low for comfort. Great fight still.

Usyk clearly won the fight 8-4 plus the knockdown ... People forget aggression and pressure is part of scoring , fury knew he could not knock out usyk , so he's plan was to stay on the outside and jabbing . He ran away most of the fight , how can you win a round running away in a HEAVYWEIGHT fight, maybe as a lightweight but as a big man , 1-3 usyk , 4-7 fury , 8-12 usyk
