@brandonadam71672 жыл бұрын
This was the first time AJ was being shown angles, relentless activity and non-stop head movement. People can say that AJ should've tried to cut the ring off, throw big and big-man Usyk, but Usyk was just too slick for AJ to get in close and land heavy. Usyk gave AJ absolutely no time to set up for anything big by using his lead-hand feints and in-and-out footwork. Whenever AJ would (try to) close in on Usyk, he would always find an escape route through using angles. Good effort by AJ by keeping the fight really close and competitive until the 9th. Huge props to Usyk for outboxing the lad and stealing the first and final rounds of the fight.
@highburyhoops60742 жыл бұрын
Good analysis. How do you see the rematch going? More of the same or can AJ make adjustments?
@brandonadam71672 жыл бұрын
@@highburyhoops6074 I honestly see AJ trying to go in there, use his size/strength advantages and knock Usyk out. However, I don't know if AJ could make the adjustments to keep up with Usyk's mobility and ever-lasting stamina. Even if AJ lands, it'll be nearly impossible to catch Usyk standing still. Even if AJ hurts Usyk, I don't think it'll be long until AJ gasses out and the fight turns into a repeat of what happened in the 12th round of this fight. Usyk showed a great ability in this fight to enter and exit range using angles and also nullify AJ's long-guard by slipping underneath the lead-hand and throwing over the top of it. AJ's gotta have some luck if he wants to beat Usyk lol because this isn't gonna be someone who will slack off and come in out of shape, like how Andy Ruiz did in their rematch.

What from this fight makes anyone think AJ is stronger? I know he’s taller and more “aesthetically” muscular than Usyk, but rounds 9/10 and again 12 I only saw Usyk being the stronger man in the clinch. AJ wasn’t that far off in this fight a couple adjustments and he could have won. Trying to big brother Usyk might backfire really bad. We’ll see soon!

AJ got aggressive from round 4 and had the momentum going for 4th, 5th and 6th round until Usyk noticed he was getting caught more frequently and he also turned up his pace. That was when AJ got confused by Usyk's south paw quickness. He kept falling into the same trap Usyk does by feinting and then follows up with the straight left or hook. I think AJ has to master the ways to fight and defeat a quick south paw if he could ko Usyk in the next fight. He really has to know the disadvantages of a south paw fighter and also know his vulnerabilities when fighting a south paw. He gets confused by Usyk's angles coming from a south paw fighter and forgets to go to the body. Also I think AJ has a slight panic attack problem when he gets caugth on the side of the head and starts focusing on shielding the side of his head making him to lose balance and concentration a split second. That might be a natural reaction due to his loss to Andy Ruiz because it started with Ruiz catching him on the side of his head and he lost his equilibrium. He has to learn to get over that fear and and take chances. Also I noticed fatigue on AJ from round 8 or 9 onwards and that got worse until the last round. After surviving the combo from Usyk, he nearly collapsed at the end of the 12th due to fatigue and maybe the thought that he might have just lost the fight. That panic attack thing again? I think he needs to mentally defeat that fear of being knocked down again so he can let his hands go and and regain that ferociousness he used to have before his Ruiz loss. Maybe his new trainer would help but he has to mentally work on himself and fight those panic attacks when his gets hit on the side of the head. Every fighter ( from the days of Jack Johnson to present champions ) has their weak point but overcoming that fear of someone exploiting your weak point in the ring is what makes you a better fighter and makes your legacy grow forever.

You've said it all. I wanted to see a 1000 likes, but I guess we're in a world where no one loves the truth. You were unbiased despite showing you're an AJ fan. Everyone has a weak point. It was exactly why everyone watching that match questioned AJs corner. Everyone! AJ was losing, what did they do? Nothing! He got Usyk in the 4th & 5th rounds. What did they tell him to sustain that momentum? Nothing! His body shots were too much for Usyk to handle. Did they tell him to intensify? No! Usyk was catching him on the jabs, counter and flex. They were just there like morons and did nothing! I guess they got to a stage where they became afraid to tell AJ the truth. It won't be the same this time around. Usyk can't KO AJ, not likely. If they get to R12, AJ would have ragged Usyk so much from the first 6 rounds, he'd win. Fingers crossed.

People don’t realise Usyk was expecting a tougher fight that’s why he took the foot of the gas in the middle rounds. That’s the only reason AJ started to get back in the fight. Until Usyk found out this guy can’t beat me and he put his foot down and started to pepper, jab, left cross the whole show and not only beat AJ but battered showed him up because at the end AJ looked spent and Usyk looked as if he is just warming up. Sorry AJ fans but that’s the truth
@abdulazeezmuhammed72432 жыл бұрын
@@jonirekola548 He could do so because AJ was already worn out from a very bad tactics and game plan. If AJ had boxed, Usyk won't have that strength in the final minutes. AJ even thought he had won. Still, a moronic corner AJ had that night.

Thanks for posting the video, Anthony! The match had great dynamics, with the contest for the center adding great suspense. While Usyk got some good shots, Anthony's performance was great and the fight wasn't too one-sided. It feels like the trainers/advisors during the round played a great role as well, changing the fight tactics for both fighters. The upcoming battle will be extremely tough for Usyk, given his involvement in the defense against the Russian invasion and stress caused by the war, caring about his wife and children daily out of fear of being killed by Russians. I think that Ukraine now needs victory more than ever, not only on the battlefield, and that will likely influence public opinion. In the first few round Usyk was slightly leading. Round 6 was where Joshua went aggressive and it worked to take over the initiative. But Usyk had doubled in the following rounds to retake the initiative back. Overall, Usyk's reaction time felt being a bit faster to avoid the hits despite range disadvantage. I feel that the rematch will be even more aggressive than we see here. Both fighters had preserved their stamina to fight all 12 rounds, to the viewers' amusement In box the better prepared wins. I wish the fight to be fair and fighters to show their best in the upcoming fight.

Usyk is a master class of boxing iq, the only people who thought he had no chance at hw obviously have no idea about the sport, the keys to beating usyk for aj are from rounds 6-8 in this fight, atlas, calzaghe, mcguinnan and others predict the same, target usyks body, take center of ring and long stiff jab to the body, keep sticking it into his body looking to setup a right over the top and counter left hooks, nothing fancy, the hard part is not allowing hsi footwork to dictate the fight, if he gets inside of that range jump on him wrestle him push him back, you fight a boxer never box with them, aj can win- his punch power alone is an equaliser but doing it is another thing

The head and foot movement was AJ kryptonite. AJ just couldn't keep up with the quickness, ackwardness and faints. Just to much for AJ. Boxing skills pays the bills. Knock out punchers have to be able to connect and AJ just could not get his feet set to throw any real power behind those punches.

Really good fight, the challenger was amazing and the champion fought bravely. Watching all the Joshua losses, and specifically since the first loss, it appears to me that once he is hurt at anytime in a fight he is mentally defeated. He seems flummoxed when he should be bombing he reverts to amateur style boxing and appears to believe light jabbing is scoring him points and time. Id like to see Joshua figure this out, theres no reason this immensely skilled boxer needs to be on his way out. Id love to see him get the belts again...somehow

This fight should have been easy. Usyk needed the belts and had to come forward. All AJ had to do was not chase and push Usyk back with strong right hand (south paw) jabs to the body. At worst it would have been a draw. Now Usyk has the belts and will be on back foot. AJ needs to destroy Usyk’s body and be aggressive from start to finish. Can AJ’s cardio survive? He should be training for 24 rounds.
