I paid attention this time. The 4th round is where Canelo made the adjustment and dropped his high guard and started crouching down low while moving his head. This also allowed him to explode up with lead left hooks. Perfect plan-B after the the first three rounds were fairly even.

Jacobs was incredibly succesful with his jab and feints, I think Canelo realized he needed to find another way to get in range and using head movement to inch closer and closer was a risky move but it was succesful for Alvarez.

EXCELLENT FIGHT. Canelo's head movement & defense is so impressive. Jacobs fought his heart out, kept throwing punches in bunches. I think what made the difference was when Canelo landed shots, the impact was very visible ex: head snaps back, body gets backed up, ect. IMO this is a fight to study, both did an excellent job. I would hate to be a judge for this one

I noticed that Canelo played a very defensive and coy game. And it was brilliant watching Daniel mimick this and keep his right hand back. You could tell Canelo was just looking to counter off the right with his own. And D.Jacobs read this very early on. Kept very composed looking for his own shots!

Shame Canelo is not a gentleman boxer blaming a visit to his home country. as to the reason he has failed drug tests he' has said he had eaten contaminated meat while on Mexican trip - Golovkin added. “I told you, it’s not Mexican meat, “This is Canelo. This is his team. This is his promotion. ... Canelo is cheating. They’re using these drugs, and everybody is just trying to pretend it’s not happening.”

@@estrada4561 Canelo has been found cheating occasionally they found drugs in his system, when asked how it got in him he simply said Mexican meat from his home country must of contained the drugs, many boxers have been upset with it but they let him get away with things so he could still be doing it again.

@@MusicKnowledge1 do your research before spreading lies lol the amount wasn’t enough for it to be considered efficient in gaining muscle then they later did a hair follicle test (which is more accurate and goes back 6-9 months) and there was no drug in his system meaning it was from meat. and he didn’t visit mexico. he lived in mexico.

Although I've been a Canelo fan his entire pro career, and he won this fight with impressive power, speed and head/foot work, I was impressed by Jacobs' cool demeanor and obvious skills. Chrisropher Rubio Glad you mentioned how he was with his son, as i noticed just as Canelo was announced the victor, Jacobs saw the emotion welling in his boy's eyes, and proceeded to shield him from the camera with a hug and a kiss on the cheek. Totally made me watery eyed. Actually that is what brought me to the comment section.

That was the most intriguing fight I have ever seen. That fight had it all. The psychology they were using on each other was intense. Their footwork against each other was brilliant. That was like a sword fight. Brilliant fighters. Two more Lomenchenkos of different styles.

@@joseluis-dj7ur Canelo is stiff and slow. Watch Duran, Benitez and Sweet Pea for defensive fighters. And Hagler was brilliant defensively. He rarely got hit with a clean shot and was never off his feet. Plus, Hagler switched from Orthodox to Southpaw fluidly. He was also all natural. He went straight after Tommy to prove that he wasn't scared of his power. Tommy landed shots that would have knocked out most but Marvelous Marvin just brushed them off.

They both had beautiful defense, but they are great for different reasons.

All I have to say is DJ is from Brooklyn with much respect. Canelo skilled fighter and congrats. But the most impressive part of this match was seconded b4 they announced the winner. Jacobs never showed he wanted to win the fight.Canelo went forward moved his head to avoid getting hit..There was no technique.,the best Jacob's used his shoulder,and pawed,payed, his right hand , with no power.Jacobs may have had one or two rounds,but tha rest of the fight was Canelo,and all the holding was b y Jacob's. Jacob's was never.agressive to try and win the fight.
