I have this flight next Thursday! Glad you have a video of it. Watching these usually help calm my nerves and preflight jitters. How long is the typical boarding process for the A330?
@sla31 Жыл бұрын
The boarding of an A330 takes at least 45 minutes. I think Hawaiian starts boarding like 45-50 minutes before departure. I can't remember for sure, but it's not the typical 30 minutes before departure.

@@zachmatt3 Yeah, I saw that too. I wonder if that was just an accident? It seemed like too little came out to make any difference in landing weight.
@keithfreitas29832 жыл бұрын
Fuel dumping is normally used in emergency situations after takeoff and aircraft has to land, if the airline has the sysrem. Not all Aircraft have fuel dump systems. Dumping fuel at destination never happens as aircraft are well below max landing weight. All MDC aircraft has fuel dump system including the C17.

As always, the audio is amazing! You come through every time, and you always care about the quality audio equally to the visual aspects of your videos, so keep doing what you're doing! It makes such a difference when I get to virtually fly with you. Now, if you could tell me about the foods they include with the menus, (not to mention the beverages), it would be really nice, because I might just get to fly to Pittsburghthis year to stay with the nuns at my favorite Monastery in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania! I think Delta Airlines just might win me over above Southwest Airlines, but I'm still trying to decide. I don't know, but have you thought about trying some of those Business Jets that some people are taking to get from point A to point B? It's just a thought. My cousin Brent flies a corporate jet in and out of Moline, il to level points for Conegra Foods, for example. Yeah, I know, that's a whole new level of flying, so I don't know if this would be practical for you or not. One of my favorite things to ask pilots to do is a static takeoff which is such a cool thing to experience. Just the power alone of that thrust is so amazing!

Most twins do. They have 200% the power they need to fly in case an engine explodes on takeoff. This means they're overpowered for cruise though. Fun fact: the A340 300 is actually more fuel efficient than the 777 200ER in cruise. It has 133% the power it needs to fly.

I usually go to the hotel and crash haha. I have had days where I have 5 flights in a single day. I don't do anything with the footage until after I've returned home and have had time to edit it all. I fly enough to have about a month of videos ready to go ahead of time.

Great fly! I see some of your video contains water salutes. Why they do that?
@sla312 жыл бұрын
I'm assuming this was asking about water salutes and it was autocorrected. Water cannon salute is an aviation tradition used to signify a "special flight." That can be an inaugural flight, a final flight, a crew member's retirement flight, an aircraft retirement flight, or even something else like a fallen solider being returned home. Regardless of the reason, if a flight receives a water cannon salute, it's because that flight has some special significance.
@RoadsOfAsiaBen2 жыл бұрын
@@sla31 LOL, not sure why my autocorrect does that. It does this sometimes.

Do you know why the baby was crying? Because this is about the stage where your ears "pop" because of the change in air pressure and that can be painful; especially if you have a cold. Plus the steep banks the plane was doing and it being a bit bumpy. Some grownups find that scary especiallyif it's their first flight. Just saying. Awesome video. I just love how you always for the most part post the whole flight from push-pack to shutdown when the plane arrives at its final destination

I have a lot of memories of flying to OGG. I've been to Maui 13 times in my life. I always got excited when I took off. I had a tradition of watching the classic Spongebob episodes In-Flight. It set the right mood when traveling to Maui. I do have a question since you frequently fly there. How is it nowadays? Is it difficult to travel to Hawaii during the pandemic? Is there anything others should know if they consider traveling to Maui or any other Islands?
@sla312 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't call it difficult to travel to Hawaii now. It was in the early phases of the pandemic. Before the vaccines and tests were so readily available. Now you just have to fill out a questionnaire online and provide your vaccine card or a negative Covid test. Then you get a wristband when you check in to show you've done that and can walk right out of the airpot just like any other time. It's a bit of an inconvience, but I wouldn't call it difficult. As for the islands themselves. Traffic an be a nightmare on pretty much all of them, but I'm not sure that's anything new. They're expensive too, but again, I think that's always been the case haha. I wouldn't ever tell anyone not to go to Hawaii. Personally, I think it's one of the best places I've ever visited. And I never tire of going and I've been there a lot now.

I understand not everyone knows the FAA airport codes. However, KZbin limits the number of characters in a title to 100. That's not much space to work with. If I typed out Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Kahului Airpot, or even Seattle Washington to Kahului Hawaii, that's 1/2 to 2/3 of my title space gone. Since the FAA airport codes are widely accepted abbreviations, they're the easiest piece of information to abbreviate, that a lot of people will already be familiar with. Again though, I know not everyone knows them. That's why I spell everything out, in detail, in the video's description. This incudes every city/airpot with the corresponding codes right next to them. This makes it as easy as possible for people to see the code, reference the description, and easily be able to know what SEA or OGG is. I mean, the alternative is "Full Flight - HAL - A332 - Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Kahului Airpot - N389HA - HA29 - IFS ep 444." Which is actually more than 100 characters. So, if I spell out the cities/airports, I have to abbreviate every other piece of information, and it's still too long. Anyways, this is why I list the airports by their codes. If anyone is unsure of what a code is, that full information is listed in the destruction. Thanks for watching my friend.
