Oh my goodness, with me having super textured and oily skin as well as for the most part not being able to stand foundation, I thought I would HATE the Josie Maran foundation!! I got a few samples of it from sephora so I tried it and it's honestly my favorite foundation. I Also loveeee it for a liquid bronzer.

she means only the ones sent to china are tested, its a law there. mac themselves doesn't test them the chinese government has them tested. I'm pretty sure it states that in their FAQ but don't hold me to that.

Oh man, it's like you're talking about my 17 year old self in this video, haha. I lived in Victoria, and we only had MAC when I was a teenager as well. I would skip the afternoon of school to bus downtown to the MAC counter and chat with all the artists. Sometimes they would play around with eye looks on me, etc., and I just thought it was the best thing ever. MAC gift cards were THE gift for me on birthdays and Christmas and man, those hauls though... Some of the girls from the counter went to Blanche Macdonald, and that was THE dream of my naive teenage-hood. Needless to say, I got lazy as fuck and stopped expanding/hoarding my collection of MAC eyeshadows and eventually stopped playing with makeup on a consistent basis altogether. It's nice to know that someone pursued that naive, teenage MAC dream and succeeded! It makes me so happy :)

I currently work for MAC in the UK and my interview was honestly the scariest thing i had ever done, the people interviewing me were like makeup gods in my eyes and finding out i got the job was probably the best feeling i have ever ever felt in my whole life and nothing has topped that so far... its crazy!!!! so for you Sam, this is so rewarding and you deserve it so much. But sadly this summer I was running late to catch the train and my bag opened and all my make up bags fell out, so I rapidly picked them up and put them back into my bag... but since I was in a hurry I missed one of my make up cases and I lost all my lipsticks including yours... Your working at MAC story sounds so much like mine. During my 3rd interview with them( yes, 3rd. 1st was with counter mgr, 2nd was my makeup interview, 3rd was with regional manager) I said I was 100% going to retire at MAC. I also loved their training process, and was super into white liner. And Plushlash! MAC WHY!!!! It was so beautiful😢. It's so awesome that you got to create a Lipstick with them. My story about MAC is the exact same. Obsessed with MAC at a young age because that's all we had in Nanaimo at the time, and then working for them seasonally for 2 years. Didn't work out. Sam, I freaking love you. This video was so relatable. I've been working in cosmetic retail for a year now. I truly love the company I work for and desperately want to move up the corporate ladder. I've already interviewed once for a higher position, but was looked over for someone who had no experience, but was still thought to be more qualified. That was a really dark time for me. I tried so hard and had so much hope, but in that moment I truly felt like giving up. Giving up on the company, makeup, and the passion I have for it. I love your story about growing up and buying one thing at a time. Reminds me of when I was in high school (late 80's) and my mom and I would wait until the local department store had a gift-with-purchase for Lancome or Estee Lauder or whatever and we would go in and figure out the minimum we needed to buy to get the gift. For me it was usually eyeshadow. For the longest time I wore the reddest red lipsticks because that was usually what was in the gift, and I always had nice black lashes because every gift had a tube of mascara in it. Fun times. Now I'm fortunate/successful enough to be able to walk into a makeup store or department store and and not have it be a big deal if I come out with a haul's worth of makeup. It makes me happy.
