It's so stunning to hear about his wife's death yesterday, and it really puts things into perspective. I don't know how long she's been fighting for her life, but I understand it was something that happened slowly, and I can only imagine what he's been going through. As far as we know, he never took a day off from the team until after her death. His interviews can be tiresome to watch sometimes (this was one of the better ones by far!), but I have so much grace for him after learning about Erin, and I wish him only the best. Every silent bit of scorn I've had for the way he's talked to reporters, I take back entirely. I've always admired him as a brilliant coach, but his style was less pleasant. After realizing how he's been handling this, I admire more than ever, both as a coach and as a man.

People think he's being difficult. It's just that he's smarter than all the rest. When he hears a dumb question sometime he points it out or just makes fun of things, like he did with the Steph Curry comment. He knows he has to answer these questions, but he also know they're all fluff and it doesn't matter.

Because he savages reporters that ask stupid questions. Getting humiliated in front of your peers kinda sucks. And they don't get anything useful for their newscast, annoying their boss. And only Pop knows what a "stupid" question is at any given time. He can be moody. He's having an unusually good time here.
