I have a question, are the shoes reshaped and reused on the same horse? Or does the shoe have to be made completely new? I know nothing about shoeing horses.

the shoes cant be reused because it wont be able to fit but they re worked them, some farriers will not reset another’s shoes even if they fit well

Love the videos. Not trying to hate at all because I am an equestrian myself, just clueless. How are you not hurting the horse? Especially on the frog? Also why do hoses where shoes it the first place. Thanks for any responses. They would be super help ful

The frog is quite insensitive and as it grows out its important to maintain it. It doesn't hurt the horse at all when it's done by a farrier. They study their jobs too. Also, some horses need shoes to strengthen and protect their feet. It helps the hoof not to wear down as quickly. Reasons may range from medical matters, to working purposes.

The hoof of a horse is much like a fingernail or toenail. If the horse was in pain, it would be letting the farrier know.

To add to the others yes the frog has nerves but they are deeper inside and when it grows out its hard to get to the nerves without going very deep into the frog

No the horse would let you know if it was uncomfortable or painful you’d probably end up with some injuries if it hurt them

My grandad has a horse, always has since my dad was about twenty (no not the same horse) they are nice creatures however I do my best to stay away from it as much as possible, just the shear size of the fuckers, I would never try to get this close to one in a million years, I imagine it takes some guts to do what you’re doing

It doesnt really take guts, once you get close to one, or just touch it when its not in its stable you can just tell the horse doesnt want to hurt you if you dont want to hurt it and they are pretty amazing animals, give it a chance and you would love it
