In this scene from episode 2 of Season 3, Back to School Blues, DJ Tanner is in junior high, and she learns the hard way that girls can be so mean to each other sometimes when she is teased in the lunchroom by Colleen and her gang, a clique of mean girls. (I felt bad for her when I saw this scene for the first time.)

I’m not sure I would be saying this if I were you. Not everyone’s experiences are the same. What if someone who has just started middle school sees this comment? This video probably makes them nervous enough about it. How would people feel if you told them that? They sure wouldn’t feel good. Think about their feelings. On a personal note, middle school was actually a really _good_ time for me! High school was good, too. Elementary school was the worst. But, sorry about your experience, nonetheless.

I agree. I was called ugly up until the 10th grade then all of the sudden people thought I was attractive made no sense to me. However because of all of the nasty names people would call me, I didn't start believing it until after I left high school. Those scares stay and mean people truly don't care.

@@moxieme1174 I don't normally reply to people on you tube but your comment bothered me. Not everything is perfect and wonderful. When we shield people and act like everything is great, the consequences can be far more terrible. Being honest is okay, it's okay to admit middle school was bad. It's not okay for you to say to someone that they can't share their experiences of what happened to them in school. School is rough, kids are allowed to know that. It prepares them. Allowing people to think everything is wonderful is far worse because then they can't cope when bad things do happen.

I grew up in school back in the late 80's and early 90's and there was some really bad bullying going on like this. For some reason at the middle school age there is so much hate for one another and kids are EVIL. If you are lucky to go through your teenage years without being bullied you are a very lucky person because for those of us that were we carry the scars around years later. The biggest problem I face as a adult now is lack of trust in people.

This whole scene was pretty humiliating for DJ. But this whole episode reminded me how annoying Full House could be. It's like DJ has this miserable first day of school but then her next day is pretty good and her troubles from the day before are gone. That's so unrealistic. I remember I came home crying my first days of high school because of how bad it was. And it didn't get any better.

Depends on how you deal with the troubles the first day. Retreating like she did, you're right it would not get better in fact it would get worse. In my country, kids that age aren't required to eat lunch inside the school. At lunch hour, you are free to leave the school grounds (provided you have a pass) and where you go and what you eat at that time is for you to decide. You did have the option to stay inside and eat lunch in the cafeteria, but most kids didn't do that. Like a solid 85-90% of kids ate outside It's much more liberating being away from school for an hour in the middle of the day. Helps you feel like you're not locked up there all day. As long as you're back in time for your next class, there's no issue. Being forced into a cafeteria at lunch is a bizarre concept to me. Especially if they're gonna start blocking seats and you can't get a spot. We didn't have that problem, lol. We ate in the streets or in a nearby park or just found ourselves a bench.

Poor DJ! I'm bitter: when I moved up to secondary school, I decided to moderate (and eventually cease) the probably-autistic mannerisms (twiddling) that had made me perpetually unpopular as a junior. So why didn't I live happily ever after? No, I then started to get nagged about other SILLY stuff, such as people saying my hair was "greasy". And believe me, those bullies weren't nearly as beautiful as the teenager who calls DJ "scrub"; NO WAY JOSE! (They weren't a patch on the 3 Tanner girls, either.)

I know right this how bullying or cyberbulling gets started just because DJ is an outcast doesn't give three girls a right to be mean I mean they think their cool and popular when they acted tough and snarky but you want know something it makes them look dumb and stupid how would they like it if someone like did exect same thing to them if they total outcast.I know how DJ feels because I use to bullied by a boy in highschool when he keep saying he better than everyone but one know something he wasn't because he kicked out of PE class and was lazy and one day he called me a midget that's when I stood up to him and said hadn't done anything to you and told him how would you like it if someone called you fato and he finally bugged off I also told stop picking on everyone in the class just because they have different strengths everybody is special in their way and because he never brush his teeth and he always wore same dark cloths.

I remember never feeling like I fit in in 6th grade, I was homeschooled for the first 5 months of 6th grade so when I went back to regular school, I was stuck with uncool “5th grade” clothing while all girls wore the latest styles. I would always go to the mall and buy the cheapest clothing that would make me fit in a bit more. Even though no one made fun of my clothing, I felt like a child walking around in a pink kiddie sweater.

Middle school can be challenging for many reasons. Starting middle school is way harder than starting high school. 1) Puperty 2) peer pressure 3) adapting to 6 differnet classes rotation. 4) transition from kid to teenager. 5) Pressure to act "grown up".
