She used to defend her dad up to a few years after knowing. She would go visit him and write letters back and fourth. I know she was in denial at that time, but I could never shake that shaping my view of her even now. I can only imagine how much mental processing she has had to do and will have to do for the rest of her life. I don't think she gets a thrill from this. I think she is doing her best to cope with what happened and helping with old investigations is one of the ways she can process everything. Just a sad situation all around.

I just want to reach through the screen and hug that poor girl. Dealing with a psychopath is always a shocking experience to one's normalcy, especially since the revelations of their actions seem to always pop up unexpectedly. It's such a lot to process, and put it somewhere in your memories that don't touch on one's normal, everyday life. The new discoveries are the hardest, and such a personal punch in the gut. The intensity of those does fade with time. I hope she has a trusted person in her life to just hold her, and let her know this is not her fault. She may know this intellectually, but something inside can haunt one into thinking that somehow they are at fault simply because he's related. Absolutely nothing is to do with her at all. Nothing is anyone else's fault. This is all on him. She is the bravest person to come forward to help the police this way, and the police need to not let her (and the other victim's families) down in this. This is a lot! There are families that need to know. They need to go out and look for more victim's, and if these pictures give clues to the killings, they'll also give clues to where bodies can be found. I can't believe it's taken this long for law enforcement to act on this! I've been saying since before he was arrested that there's no way this killer has done so few as 10. I never believed this sick SOB wasn't more prolific. Even when he was casually confessing in court, you could see in his face the smirk of knowing that they had no clue. He loved that day. I'd be checking surrounding States, too. Stay strong, Kerri. You can do this. I'm glad you know when to take a break, though. You have the biggest heart, please don't break it anymore than he already has.

You can sense the stress and anxiety that she is going through in helping law enforcement. This can’t be easy for her, and I’m sure the amount of trauma that she is suffering is hard to bear. My heart goes out to her, and I’m so grateful to her for helping. I’m sure she struggles with PTSD. 😢

The fear that I felt in Josephine’s crime scene photos is like no fear I’ve ever seen that exists on this earth. What was done to her, there’s not a day that goes by that I really can’t believe it honestly, that I’m not brought to tears by the lack of empathy and mercy, that I don’t understand how these victims are forgotten and life just somehow went on. I see her fight for justice and her fear in your eyes, and she is alive in you now. What a profound calling you have. Thank you for pushing yourself and answering this calling to give these families justice. Please continue your fight, particularly for the Otero family.

I know from personal experience, that doing what you can to help law enforcement is somewhat therapeutic. My father was a different kind of monster, but just as dangerous. Once I did my part to help convict him, I felt absolved of my accountability to society. But know that BTK hurt his daughter in a way that I cannot articulate.

He was sad when the police didn’t visit him anymore because he had nothing left to tell. He still recounted every detail about every case to recent investigators. No reason to get off on every case (including children) and not mention these cases.

I have always felt that Dennis Rader’s admission of “10 Murders” was too pat, contrived…like he was giving the cops enough to show how smart he was. The way he played dumb on the A&E documentary when Dr Ramsland reminded him of his “Barbershop” dream. I don’t think he’ll ever give them all of his kills…They most likely have all of the Kansas cases, which he was proudest of. The most helpful evidence would be hidden in his hidey-holes, and there very well may be more journals or trophies/ligatures hidden away in such places. The man can definitely make peoples’ skin crawl…
