BTK Killer’s former Kansas property was searched for clues in the unsolved case of 16-year-old Cynthia Kinney. The Osage County Sheriff says they found items of interest that can possibly connect Dennis Rader to the 1976 teen disappearance in Oklahoma. Sheriff Eddie Virden talks #CourtTV about the search for more victims.

I would absolutely expect a killer like BTK to have several more victims. All those years on the loose & he only had 10 victims? I doubt it, especially when you consider the 1st killing already was 4 victims. Bravo to his daughter for doing something positive out of the horrible situation.

@@Morticia1313 he could have said "it wasn't me" but he didn't. He made vague statements and eluded to things, causing the investigators to beg his daughter to talk to him. Lately Kerri had seemed perturbed and suffering. She gave hints on one true crime KZbin podcast that there was something going on. She basically challenged the idea that Radar 'stopped' for a period of time. Right then I kinda figured more victims were being investigated. Kerri was no contact with Radar and wanted nothing to do with him, but she selflessly tried to get information by meeting him. Unbelievable bravery from a woman who has been deeply traumatised.

@@RobinMarconeCassidyRN experience teaches. When I was 7, I barely survived a mass murder and have had severe disabilities ever since. I'm a magnet for these people, Robin. They think they can take advantage because they see me as weak, which I am, physically. But if something is important, I am strong willed. Some things I've been able to do nothing about, but my creep cousin in Franklin, TN, Donald, who cheated me out of over $100,000 in inheritance money which he wasn't going to get but which he wanted to deprive me of so despair would force me to commit suicide ( my cousin wasn't reckoning with my wonderful church, which saved my life ), must wake up with bv the shakes in the middle of the night sometimes. He know I have letters and emails which show what a scum he truly is. In a few hours, he'll be getting up to teach his Sunday school class and be a beaming, apparently benign presence for Christ in his church. Some people still buy his act, but many have been wised up, and many more could be. He wanted to kill me. He does gloat that he vandalized my inheritance. And I enjoy knowing that he has something to be nervous about. Psychopaths aren't quite human, and a society which is sane executes them before they can ruin any more lives. Unfortunately, my cousin is not subject to the death penalty, but he's 68 now, an age at which psychopaths tend to find themselves increasingly shunned, because most people who know them have caught on to who they really are.

And your right, BTK could have easily committed another murder. And yet, he didn't. Why? Because he wanted *attention* again. Not surprised there’d be more cases he conveniently “”failed to mention”” when he was caught. He seems like the kinda guy to refrain from admitting to everything all at once because that would mean it would all get ironed out and they’d be done with him, then he’d get left to be forgotten about in prison. He loves the attention and recognition for his “work.” He’d want law enforcement to periodically “check in” regarding other cases he was possibly involved in so he can get that little ego boost every once in awhile. Even if he wasn’t involved, I wouldn’t be surprised if he dragged it out just for fun. But, this probably won’t be the last time we hear from Dennis Rader; whether he is involved in this case or not, it’s probably going to be the catalyst for a lot of unsolved/cold cases in and around every ADT job site and every Boy Scout campgrounds he was ever present at in Kansas, probably all four surrounding states, and maybe beyond

@quantumpotential7639 I'm saying that IF I learned that my dad was a serial killer, then it would be a horrific experience. I sympathize with the families of serial killers, many of whom never ask for nor want the notoriety and end up changing their identities and moving away in search of a more peaceful life. A lot of them suffer from PTSD. But I have no reason whatsoever to believe such a thing of my dad. There were no periods of time spent away from his family, no forbidden areas where he could hide evidence, and no strange personality traits. He adored and drew animals to him and could not bear to see one suffer. (Serial killers are often associated with torturing and killing animals. It's a defining trait.) My father was well-known in our community, remained devoted to our mother for almost 55 years, raised three feisty educated women, and had four grandsons. He respected women, another trait that serial killers generally don't have. Most of them have a deep and abiding hatred for women. My daddy was also known to be a man of faith for as long as I knew him. It's been 13 years since he went home to be with the Lord, and I miss him every day. 😢

Everyone keeps saying what a brave and selfless person BTK's daughter has been. She is brave but she has hardly been selfless. This is a cash crop for her. She has been managed by a show business agency for a while now and accordingly is turning this case into a show business type deal (just like this channel.) The vampyre may be caught and caged but there are plenty of blood suckers still hanging around.....

Why is he going to admit to killing someone he didn’t kill. They have nothing that ties him to the person or even being in the area at the time, which the sheriff even admits. The DNA doesn’t match his so it’s clearly not his kill or he would have absolutely came clean for the killing.

Unsure BTK committed these cold case murders. He had a very set MO. He would lay in wait in his victim's homes. Every one of the ten murder he described that way. The police also hadn't linked him to the Otira murders; he detailed them after his arrest. I think he's just playing footsie with the attention he's getting. I hope the Sheriff doesn't develop tunnel vision on BTK.

I found it interesting that BTK was influenced, originally, by his pastor to plead guilty to the original charges and avoid a trial. I was surprised that he didn't want a trial as it didn't seem in keeping with the personality traits often linked to people such as himself. However, his will to live and his age at the time may have given him pause to avoid the death penalty then. If he is bored currently, which he has to be after all these years, maybe he is craving that attention and wants to take some control back in his life, maybe he wants to have a trial, to keep his mind busy and have some interaction with people and a chance to become the cause of some pain and frustration for people. The first time when he plead guilty, he probably felt like he was gaining control by doing that and knew that he had "shot himself in the foot" through his cat and mouse and the clues he left when he thought he was untouchable... When he was caught he was in the headspace where he was okay with copping to these multiple charges, in which he incriminated himself. Now that the charges may be one at a time, he probably feels like he can control that situation. Also he is older and has a very very low quality of life and likely knows he would outlive any death sentence because of his age and the length of time death sentences take to carry out. Why admit to something with an immunity from prosecution when the immunity really makes no difference to your situation. In other words he's going to be in jail until he dies and this trial situation will likely give him some variety in his life, along with some perceived control and attention. He has been clamoring for attention as of late and would probably like a chance to showcase what he thinks is his mental prowess as well as just something different to do with his time. This is regardless of the fact that he was the killer in these cases or not.

BTK always wants to stay relevant. I think he heard himself being compared to Bryan Kohberger, and he didn't like it. He inserted himself into these cold cases so that his name would appear in the press in an active way. That's my opinion - Radar didn't do these ones. He just loves the attention.

@@Tess-163 it all started when Kohberger killed (allegedly) 4 people and it came out that he studied Criminology, including with the professor who studied BTKs killings. That's how BTK ended up back in the news. And I bet he doesn't enjoy being Kohberger's trinket in this story. He wants to stay relevant by linking himself to an unsolved murder or two. Even if he didn't do them. He wants his name in the paper all on its own - and he got it. I'd say mission accomplished for BTK this time. Sadly.

The Census sheets usually have the signature of the census taker on each sheet or in each enumeration district, as I recall. I don't know if it's searchable in the database or if you have to go over each sheet by hand and read the census-takers name visually using the images. The 1950s are online. Later years might be viewed by contacting the Census Bureau.

Did he have a plea deal similar to Gary "Green River Killer" Ridgway, where Ridgway agreed to confess to ALL his murders in exchange for a Life not Death Penalty? His son said he'd wish that too since his father used his 7-year-old son to lure victims, and admitted it in court.
