@elimlinrr6898
@elimlinrr6898 2 жыл бұрын
@林冠倫 According to University of Chicago Professor of Political Science, John Mearsheimer, the USA and NATO is responsible for starting this war, not Putin. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpPYgnyupdqnb8U Zelensky is hailed as a hero by Americans today. Tomorrow he will be proven a zero when Ukrainians find their cities destroyed with countless human lives lost. Eventually, Ukraine will still not join NATO after a peace agreement is reached. Why ? Ukraine's fate is sealed by the fact it is located next to Russia's border. Had it been located near France or Britain, Putin will have no problem, say if Ireland wants to join NATO. The USA has the Monroe Doctrine which says that no distant great power can have a military alliance in the Western Hemisphere. When Russia tried to set up missiles in Cuba, USA has a right to object. But now Russia can't object USA putting missiles at its doorstep ? Why the double standards ? Will USA allow Russia and China to set up military alliance and base with Cuba, with missiles pointing at Florida USA today ? USA politicians will go down in history as cowards and evil for using Ukrainians to fight Russia on their behalf, using Zelensky a pro USA leader who gets his instructions from the USA. Why ? It's very clear by now USA and NATO had never intended to engage in a war directly with Russia. All they want is to use Ukraine to fight Russia using Ukrainian blood. USA will fight Russia to the last drop of Ukrainian blood, supporting a war far away from its own continent. If this is not despicable and cowardice, what is ? kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpPYgnyupdqnb8U This video is by far the best if you want to understand why Putin has no choice but to invade Ukraine. As an actor Zelensky was Servant of the People As a president Zelensky is a servant of the West. The West wants to divide and conquer Eastern Europe, making Ukrainians and Russians enemies instead of friends.

These people (Hill, Vindman, etc.) are what the Trumpers like to call the "deep state" and in fact are the intelligent, moral workhorses who really keep things going DESPITE the elected officials. The elected officials are mostly self-serving megalomaniacs, some of whom (mostly Democrats in recent decades) occasionally listen to the people who should be running things.

Putin has never said he wants to reabsorb Ukraine into Russia, he said that NATO cannot expand into Ukraine and have nuclear weapons on a country that borders Russia. Putin said this back in 2013 and been consistent about it since then. The agreement to limit the expansion of NATO was tacitly agreed to by the USA and European nations back when the USSR broke up in 1991 and Russia agreed to the re-unification of Germany. Since the 1991 breakup of the USSR, NATO has expanded to the East into 14 new countries and moving closer and closer to the Russian border. It is not surprising that Russia is more than a little paranoid about this. I would like to hear Hill's explanation as to how it is OK for the USA to demand that USSR remove missiles from Cuba in 1962 and to enforce a naval blockade (with promises of much worse) if the weapons were not removed. Cuba was a sovereign nation in 1962, having gained complete independence from the USA 30 years prior to the Cuban Missile Crisis. I have no problem with what the USA did during the Cuban Missile Crisis and I believe the USA should enforce the Monroe Doctrine to exclude European interference in the Western Hemisphere. But it is hypocritical for Dr. Hill to claim that Russia cannot exert the same rights with regard to NATO expansion up to their border, which if Ukraine were part of NATO would likely lead to the eventual placement of NATO weapons in Ukraine aimed at Russia. As far as Taiwan, it is not part of China (PRC). The claim that it is part of China is just an admission that China is too big and powerful for the USA to stop them taking Taiwan. Any claims to the contrary are pure BS.

Between her, Julia Ioffe, and Anthony Blinken we can truly glean a lot of information about this current conflict and the history behind it. I think the question I would have asked is if she is scared for her personal life as Putin is known to have people assassinated and she has sat directly next to him, written a book about him, and has political enemies that could make her vulnerable.

By that logic, it's ok for Cuba to be allies with Russia and put Russian nuclear missiles in Cuba, 90 miles from the US border. That did happen and the US nearly started WW3 over it. Google the Cuban missile crisis.

Ukraine could have potentially avoided all of this by becoming a Neutral Country like Ireland, Austria, Finland presenting no threat to Russia. By working towards Neutrality as an achievable goal for stability, it would take out the need for any future conflict as you could put certain caveats in.

Good to hear from Hill. To expand her point on misinformation: it is not enough to check where a thing came from, there has to be a framework within which one is assessing the motivations and goals of sources. Qui bono? Who benefits? As well as a set of tools for fielding claims, familiarity with the common rhetorical fallacies and tricks, familiarity with the history of propaganda, a general understanding in some form of the concept of hegemony... doesn't sound so average now. And that is the point... fascism and authoritarianism thrive on raising the difficulty level for citizens seeking clarity and information to make democratic decisions.

Of course, you're right that EU and NATO expansion has enraged the Moscow despot, but the terminology we're using is all wrong here, blaming the West for Putin's fears, phobias and failings. All independent countries have a right to be capitalist democracies if they wish, regardless of where they happen to be geographically located. That means that, to promote their market economies, they also have a right to (1) join economic alliances such as the EU (the EU is far more than just an economic alliance, as Brexiteers never cease to remind us, but let that go) and (2) insure themselves against invasion by hostile powers like Russia by joining defence alliances like NATO (NATO is is also far more than just a defence alliance, as we all know, but let that go as as well). In brief, it's not so much that NATO is proactively expanding. NATO's expansion is simply a consequence of more and more countries wanting the lifestyle and security that NATO countries have. And why shouldn't they? Do they have to ask their neighbours for permission however threatening those neighbours may be? If so, democracy's core (freedom) is rotten.

Shes a perfect example of how someone with a much higher degree of resolution in their analysis of Russia and Putin than someone like John Mearsheimer can handle foreign policy completely wrong. Blah blah blah "oh he invaded?" Blah blah blah. This war was preventable but this woman will likely never admit that. She might have to stop talking and listen to do that, lol.

Putin fears Dr. Hill, as he does Hilary Clinton - why? Because they are far more intelligent than he is AND they are not in anyway intimidated or “frightened” by such an insignificant, ill educated and narcissistic junior player! Once Ukraine is free again, it will be time to introduce a new “Marshall Plan” and include talent such as Dr Hill to oversee “international” relations. (I.e. Hold Russia at arms length until in plays by the worlds 21st century rules book!).

@paigerasmussen5212

Mearsheimer says that there's "no evidence" Putin was considered dangerous prior to 2014. He lays out the sensible power politics Putin "needs" to feel safe from the West's toppling of leaders. But he does not address why this is where Hill does: Putin's own evil actions. On this point, Mearsheimer is a Putin apologist, validating the "look what you made me do" excuse and propaganda of Putin for his atrocities.
