I think her appeal comes from the fact that she is probably one of the prettiest Olympians/athletes ever. And she’s also in quite a challenging and physically demanding sport that pleasantly contradicts with her appearance. She could well make a living just as a model (I don’t say this lightly) but she chose to be a skier. And plus, she’s intelligent too. Truly a unique combination of extremely marketable traits that rarely comes around and she excels in all of it. ❤

i'm just now discovering her, and i'm from san francisco (where she is from). very cool she represents china as san francisco has a deeply rooted chinese history. i've also read she was raised by her single chinese mother and has no relationship with her american father, so why not honor thy mother's heritage.

Talking about the synchronized swimming, the American reaction when they were only in provisional first was crazy because there were 2 teams waiting to do their routine. They reacted like they had won the gold. Then China was the last team in the rotation to perform and they were then in 1st..... they just had a quiet congratulations amongst themselves knowing the competition is not over yet.
