Yes, menopause is challenging, but all the physical symptoms are manageable even the vaginal dryness low libido and menopausal weight gain . We still have so much life to live and make a meaningful contribution to ourselves, our causes and our community.

Jay, this interview was valuable. You are an amazing interviewer and this Ivy an incredible conversationalist and activist. I am blown away by both of you. My wife is a Black woman so I have a head start at managing her traumas but this will help that much more when that time comes from her. I had no idea a woman goes through all of that, the graphic details of it. Thanks for what you do. It's amazing.

My perspective is totally different. I couldn’t wait to go through menopause. I bled so very heavy from the age 13 every single month(except during my birth control pills era) that a few night sweats was a breeze. I know females who used medication. But, I celebrated it and started to wear white clothing. Now, vaginal dryness is real and a low sex drive is real. But, no pain, no embarrassments, no event cancellations was a welcome to me. As far as children, I was never pregnant and sometimes I regret it. But not really. I have a full life and have done things and gone places (like traveling with Jay) that I would’ve never experienced if I were still paying student loans and now educating grandchildren. Sounds selfish but it is what it is.

Great topic! But I would say that not all women 45 plus whose menses has stopped go through symptoms associated with pre-menopause and menopause. In my case, the only thing I experienced was cessation of my menses. Other than that, life just continues as usual.

Quite possible there is an association between the onset of menopausal symptoms & the C vaccine, since knowledge about orthodox medicine is never absolute. However, it is not uncommon for anyone to have one or a few symptoms of a brief flu-like illness eg a fever or bouts of that, profuse sweating, joint/bodily pain, headache, malaise, etc after most vaccine shots. So, best to keep an open mind about a causal relationship or some association …
@kelugu3776Күн бұрын
She failed to take account of the fact that she's lived most of her life in a highly industrialised country with polluted air, food and water. Isn't that a more rational explanation for starting menopause earlier than her Ghanaian relatives? When all things are equal, the simplest explanation tends to be the right one.

So are you saying older people only have money to offer? Or are you saying young Ghanaian people are predators who search out older people for money?
