Kanye West stopped by The WGCI Morning Show in Chicago to answer all the questions from Trump, Rhymefest, his plans for Chicago and more. He even apologized for his slavery comments on TMZ.

SpeedHomeAttack We are not holding ourselves back, Africans who say this are coming from a place of ignorance, yes in Africa they have it worse than Americans, but in Africa there is no social underclass, Black people are the top race. However when you compare it to another African country, South Africa, the narrative becomes a lil different see? The whites there treated blacks horrifically, and blacks do blame them for the some of their problems today, rightfully so. That's the reason why the whites in South Africa are currently being thrown out, and having their farmland taken away, rightfully so.

Inability to pass home ownership, meaning we could not pass down wealth, or assets, every generation had to fend for themselves, taking out the possibility to properly educate ourselves because economically working would make more sense, we can't be homeless and go to school. Obviously we know what indecent education does.

That line about losing him to the Kardashian family was borderline disrespectful. Kim's his wife. Respect that. By extension, that's seriously his family. I'm probably not the only one who saw the look he threw Kendra's way after she hugged up on him and said he came home to his family. He kept his composure, but when the media and our culture was demonizing him, wasn't anybody there for him but Kim and his real family of associates and loved ones. They didn't require an apology to feel cool with him again. If you know, you know.

@jack1uptone9635 жыл бұрын
Christopher Harley The comment about losing him to the Kardashians wasn't really disrespectful cause when people say that, it's really about the Kardashian brand or the way they do things, not them personally. It's the big pink elephant in the room that's been needing to be addressed for many years now. To some degree, I think he even feel a little strange about it. Dude probably should have asked in a better way, like "What do you think about people who feel you haven't been quite the same since you've been around the Kardashians?"
@patricethomas77035 жыл бұрын
The Black community has been way too tough on Kanye. It is as if they can't see a man hurt and knows when to give him love. let him rant, be easy on him. It is really nice to see a black man be on air speaking outwardly about mental health, family values, and being vulnerable enough to not only get emotional, but also issue an apology and own up to actions with sound reasoning and composure. We need more people to know that this is okay to do and very human. Great interview.
@krisjackson65675 жыл бұрын
I knew exactly what was going to happen. The beauty of this interview was going to be clouded by 10 second clips on the shade room. This generation has been so programmed to take what they see for 1 minute or grab a headline and be “WOKE”. Ye was never canceled in my book, after watching his interview with CTG and watching the full interview you see his position. It was extremely disappointing to see how many celebrities took the bait too.... just shows that people WANT to be enraged by something.

I like when he said that this country is not programmed to be ours but we can make it ours. This is what he meant by the slavery is a choice comment. He meant that slavery conditioned black people to believe there was no hope. To the point where when we were free that mentality has stuck around. All he’s saying is we now have the choice to do what we want just like him. He built his life and has been an important part of the culture and he did it with self hope and initiative. He wasn’t trying to say that slavery literally was a choice. I get that it was communicated badly but cmon guys have a heart lol.

No, he lives in a time where we stopped judging each other period. We all know nobody is perfect, money never changed that fact. America is land of the free and home of the brave. We were supposed to accept all races cause this country was supposed to be an example on Earth on how a place so diverse could learn to live and love and respect one another without pre judgement because we all escaped a place we weren't accepted. I know for the black community it's hard, I'm only mixed and can't indentify with black or Hispanic cause I look "too white" but I feel for both sides of my people and love both sides cause I'm not me if it wasn't because of my people. But I'm the man I want to be not the man someone think I should be. Our counties, cities, states, schools, and work organizations shouldn't have been tools or borders to separate us but used to show how diverse we are and still respect each other, and show how we are different races but United as people.

Kanye will do "anything" for attention and publicity. And in typical Kanye West fashion, he says or does something offensive or stupid and just apologizes afterwards. He's been doing this his entire career! 💯
@reactionninja58195 жыл бұрын
Tim Kruse This is so true. He has definitely accepted the fact that he has to be a martyr to accomplish what he wants to accomplish. History shows people who want to bring true change have to stand in the fire. We all should form a shield for him so history doesn't repeat itself.
@coreywilliams5705 жыл бұрын
So supporting a person who has proven to be a racist. Is making the right change for his people. Did you here is bs answer. Saying black people will not accept a white president or are not motivated by white people. So why is it that if we don't wat a racist as president that means we don't want a white person. Come on be serious.You see he said Trump cares about how black people think about him. He didn't say that he cares about black people. We got to stop putting these rappers on petustools like there actual educated and know what they are talking about. Bt blacks who study these thing ad can show number. Those people we ignore. Bascally Kanye has sold out.
@brainsandbeauty28325 жыл бұрын
Tim, truth is Kanye went on a massive ego trip and thought that public opinion would always be on his side. When he realised it wouldn't he's being humbled. But it's a tough fall for him. He lacks confidence and has a shattered self image because he didn't root himself in anything substantial, just his ego. I hope he gets better but there is no message of love. It's just a wider lesson for us all to never be arrogant.

U guys are always so basic viewing things, while u r comparing Drake and Kanye recent stream numbers u r also wrongly trying to put them on the same cultural, musical and social impact level, drake should be compared to katy perry, justin bieber, and such...for good reasons and for bad reasons KANYE will be remembered for so many areas of activity and for so long, and drake will only be music numbers, like many sucessfull artist before him who had it all but never became a Michael Jackson, after 2-3 years we will not comeback to listen to Kiki, or More Life or Scorpion, kanye is creating a self fueled cycle of his existence...drake is a true all about my money kanye wanna be fan, Drake is a wave surfer, KANYE was always a Wave, he has many confirmed classic albums....is just like kanye said i love Michael Jordan but the goal is Steve Jobs people...learn black people just learn please...put ur bar higher

This is what we needed to hear from Ye! I get it now. Sometimes, after the fight and all of the hooplah, it just takes us to sit down and talk it out like family and let each other know how we inflicted hurt on the other. I am grateful that he shared his struggle...we don't know if you don't speak up. But in the end Kanye is our brother and he is entitled to feel how he feels. We love him, always have!! We were just wounded by his careless words. I'm glad he's home and I'm glad that he is reaching back to those who kept him grounded and reconnecting. I don’t watch too many of these interviews, but wow. This was well worth the hour and something mins. What I like about Ye, is that he is constantly evolving, even if he faulters he can come and acknowledge that. I really like how he addressed the mental health. I feel a lot of times, in our society, it’s taboo to talk about mental health or depression and not feeling “happy”. We all to some degree suffer from it, just based on the environment. We need more talks like this. Thank you for sharing ❤️

Drake just put that narrative out there to turn not only his fans against Ye but the mainstream as well Drakes a snake because not only how he's doing this to Ye look at what he's doin to Nicki for not being on her album and her making a verse about him, he knows how Cardi label is attackin her and doing all this shady shit(which I think in the beginning she didn't know and was confused ti why Nicki eventually came at her) but he brings her in stage. That's bitch tendencies and he shouldn't be as big as he is he steals most of his music most if ppls creativity pays them for their creativity and eventually gets rid if them.

Kanye’s perspective is way beyond the limited scope of most people in society today. He is trying to promote an idea of one race because we even though there are many characteristics that divide and differentiate us, we still are similar in the sense that we are all people. If we really can put differences aside and love everyone and just work hard in life with the intention of trying to contribute to the overall progression of mankind then we can all benefit and live a better life. He wanted to show by wearing the hat, we can break divisions by showing love to the other side and showing that going against social norms is how we can innovate and change restricted mentalities
@elizal.84735 жыл бұрын
He's a Gemini, they all think outside the box. Kanye, Trump, JFK, Tupac, Angelina Jolie, Naomi Campell, Marilyn Monroe and many more are all Geminis. They don't care about what other people think so they come off as selfish or arrogant. I just think they have amazing confidence, accurate intuition and a intolerance for B.S. They're extremely rebellious but blunt & honest about their feelings.

@jacobpaul63925 жыл бұрын
Den Dore exactly. I think what he meant to say mental conditioning that slaves were subject too had them believing they weren’t really slaves. “Slaves” on a large southern plantation outnumbered their “master” 100 to 1. Everyday they had the choice to rise up and kill the people who enslaved them. But they were prevented from receiving proper education about the world around them. All they were taught was life on a plantation. When the choice of freedom was presented to them, they didn’t know what that meant. When he says “400 years of slavery sounded like a choice” I don’t think he meant it to be derogatory towards black people. He touched on the mental conditioning of ALL people that is going on today. Like when media tries to turn black people against Kanye for not supporting the candidate that was chosen for him by the media.
@mrpipepiddler5 жыл бұрын
It was the white man that took them and a white man to set them free
@ddd89075 жыл бұрын
The bottom line is people knew what he meant. The problem is we love the slave narrative and all we want is a hug from the white man at the end of day. As long as we continue to start our history with slavery we will continue down this path. Worse part is that most of us here are indigenous to this land but that’s how ignorant and lost we really are. People know there were revolts , people have heard of Harriet Tubman and Nat Turner. Notice he said he has that spirit meaning they chose to revolt just as others had the choice. Kanye has read some deeper stuff that’s his problem and why he is attached especially from his own people.
