I got the impression the child wasn't alone when her mother went to get a bottle of water from her apartment for "the other kids", she didn't have any other kids so it must have been for the kids in the playground..........but when she came back her kid was gone, maybe the other kids went home and left the child there knowing her mother was coming back for her. I feel there has been much miscommunication as they don't speak English and even the interpreter doesn't understand all the questions.....this is partly because of cultural differences as well as the language barrier.

She then comes back to look for the child but she is gone? Is that correct? Forgive me, I am not doubting the story, just not understanding at what point the mom left the playground to get the water. Why would she not run after her child on the path- why choose that critical moment to go get water? Dad says she thought the child might have gone back to the apartment, but that is not what the original report said. It said that mom left the child at the playground and went back to the apartment and when she returned, the child was gone. Those are very different stories, unless I am missing something.

Dear God please let his little girl be safe and taken care of and quickly returned unharmed... this reporter is trying to do his job & I think it could have been handled a little better and the last question was heart wrenching... and showing this father breaking down as long as they did was so hard to watch. I hope if nothing else the FBI can look at it and see the pain he is going thru... otherwise airing as much as they did was not necessary. I hope the mother is telling the truth because to me leaving her unattended to ho back to their apt and then waiting 3 hrs just doesn't make sense to me... Refugees need to be told not to walk away from your kids here. I’m sure they don’t in their country for different reasons- they are safe from war zone but the dangers are different for children. I hope like he said maybe another family found her and just don’t know to call the cops yet I just hope they find her. No child should have to deal with being missing from their parents. dad seems sincere, but here is the problem: there are two differernt stories here, and they both can't be true. In #1- Mom leaves Lina on the playground "for a few minutes" thinking others will watch her. When mom returns, Lina is gone. #2- Mom leaves the playground "for a few minutes"- could be an hour- returns. Lina is there, but Mom observes her leave the play area and wander down a path; Mom loses sight of her. Mom then returns to the apartment thinking Lina might be there; she is not. One important question: does the path Lina disappeared on lead to their apartment? Because if it does not, it makes no sense for Mom to go back to the apartment rather than go after her child on the path.
@marildacerisha15982 жыл бұрын
Hmm yes very very strange, zero chance my toddler just allowed and let wander away from his tribe, be it one of us or many. And I'm sorry but neighbors could never be considered my tribe, my village, my trust. I come from a similar background culturally and I can fully tell you this isn't a normal thing to do. I personally haven't yet allowed anyone other than my tribe to care for my kid. I don't trust. Maybe I'm a crazy person but I just personally can't. My brain is stuck on how weird the mother's behavior seems. I wish there was more coverage.

The father needs to stop lying about her age just to collect welfare. Lina is actually 5/6 not 3. His friend said that in an interview. He said that the parents as well as many Afghan refugees lie about their kids age to make them younger so they can collect welfare for longer. By telling the news she is only 3, people can walk by a larger 5/6 year old and not think that would be Lina….the country is looking for a 3 Year old when in fact she is a 5/6 year old….I am furious at this father would rather collect welfare than protect his child!!!!!

According to father's associate, Ezat, Lina's family moved from remote Afghan village to America seeking the American Dream. Father not going to assimilate, thinks "Resident" status precludes US government authority: (1) falsified Lina's age on HHS app to extend time of child support for her- Lina's 5, not three; (2) Lina left extended time in in public area unsupervised ; (3) Father sets up $50k = Pursuing the American Dream. Hindsight is 20/20. You cannot judge a parent for their actions for a few minutes. Think of how many stupid things you have done and even if one of them had gone wrong, you might be on the media instead of this family. And this goes to everyone blaming the family: no, I am not the “comment police” but I do think you should keep your unhelpful unkind comments to yourself. This isn’t the place for you to victim blame. This isn’t the place for you to blame the family. They may not read the comments but I’m sure their friends and family members read these comments. If you can not provide some sort of positivity and hope in their life, then do all of humanity a favor and keep your unsolicited advice and unhelpful comments to yourself. I’m done debating this. I’m sick and tired of those of you who have come here pretending like they are above making mistakes. We ALL make mistakes. You’re lucky that your mistakes didn’t harm you in such a horrendous way! No need to shame the families who made one small mistake. Their punishment shouldn’t be the loss of their precious child. If you don’t have even the smallest bit of compassion and humanity to understand this, gtfo video and leave this family be.
