If the ceo is willing to slap someone while they're live. Who knows how he acts when cameras are off. The sexual explotation of young female idols is disgusting and I'm sure Fanatics aren't the only ones being treated this way. Groups might jsut not be popular enough to be discussed about.

It's not weird at all. All I ever see when girl groups perform is their legs. I hear that it's considered inappropriate to reveal more than you should "up top" in Korea, so that's why female idols show off their legs instead. Seriously, when they perform, they're in short dresses and shorts most of the time because their legs are eye candy I guess.
@user-jl4dl2bb4e

Yeah unfortunately though because of korean culture pervs are more likely to actually tune into videos of idols exposing more skin so in a way they do gain more views and whatever bs the company cares about but I don’t believe that’s the way to go to get a group recognised at all, they should be recognized for their talents and not their bodies. I feel bad for the girls because they became idols for a reason.

It's not just that there are no provocative angles on other ggs-- in fact, a lot even have staffs that are even more frantic in reminding their artists to like cover up or hand them blankets just to be safe, especially when they're not really paying attention & just being carefree. That's generally the norm in most ggs, especially the more 'mainstream' ones. Which is why i really respect & agree with his decision to stop being a fan. No matter how much you love the girls, at the end of the day, the company is still the one earning more profit from all the support from the fans.

I actually don't agree.... even if we disapprove of it and don't want to give money to the company, I feel like should support the girls until their contract is over and they can leave the company, because right now they're probably in huge debt, not supporting them won't help them either... best is for them to leave once they do well enough for the debt to be paid off

Mainstream ggs go through some form of mistreatment, but not as extensively as this. I've seen twice members being uncomfortable in the revealing clothes they are given to wear for fanmeets, performances etc. Joy from red velvet especially comes to mind. I don't think this CEO called 'cameraman' was just trying to show their legs tho. He also want to show their *breasts*, especially Doi's. You can see it clearly in 3:05 where he focused on her chest. There are also many moments from the clips you showed that he make them wear clothes that reveal the mid of their chest (again, mostly Doi). Why I 'accused' him for it? Because let's be honest. 80-90% of the time, the clothes worn by the idols are decided by the stylists, who (in this case) are most likely being controlled by the ceo. And as you can see, the girls always wear clothes that are too short for every vlive *Edit for grammar mistakes

That's why there are cases where most kpop artists haven't received their paychecks yet bc most of those will be allocated to where the company owed their financial resources. Besides, they also have a contract that they signed to begin with and that usually lasts like, 5 to 10 yrs? It depends. Breaking the contract will incur costs for sure.

I'm surprised you didn't show the footage shortly after the incident where the girls directly address someone behind the camera as "대표님" as further evidence that the cameraman was the CEO. This presents two possibilities: 1. The cameraman was being called "대표님" and, thus, was the CEO. 2. Someone other than the cameraman was also there and being called "대표님". In case 1, there's only one man. In case 2, there could be 2 men. However, it is highly unlikely that a staff member would be able to get away with that in front of the CEO if the CEO were also present. And, as you said, it is highly unlikely that a male staff would be able to do that without the girls reacting more strongly to it. Also, there doesn't appear to be more than one man talking at any point. Although it is hard to hear distinctive voice markers during the incident as the voice of the man is not very loud as he's calling the other girl an idiot. Ok, technically he doesn't call her an idiot directly. He implies it by asking her "Are you stupid?" with 바보냐? The timing of that is right before the sound that may or may not be a slap. Also, later on the girls are asking if Sika is okay. Whether or not she was slapped isn't 100% for me at this moment. But she was most definitely berated and made to look a fool with his words after she gave them the jacket. This alone might've been enough for the other members to want to know if she's okay. If it was a slap, it just adds to it. But the words alone are already damning. And this isn't even considering the sexual harassment portion of what he said. Also, yeah, the girls directly addresses Yoonhye and Sika in that clip you showed of them picking up folded papers. So for sure that heavily suggests that those two girls were, in fact, Yoonhye and Sika. And given the context of the conversations later on, it is even more evident that Sika is the one who gave the jackets to the girls. Now, I'm not what you would call a "true fan." I saw their debut MV "Sunday" back when it came out, and I enjoyed the song. It went on my playlists. I mentally marked them as a group to keep an eye on for the future, but that's as far as I took it at the time. When "V.A.V.I. Girl" came out, it wasn't enough to pull me any closer. But there were some parts I liked about it. So ya, I probably will move on with my life in a few weeks and not think about it anymore. It's unfortunate, but true. But that doesn't mean I'm hopping on a "bandwagon" because of this issue. My interest in what happened has nothing to do with what I think about the girls. It has everything to do with WHAT happened. So I chose to investigate as much as I could on my own to verify how much of the rumors were true and to ascertain to what extent things happening. I was genuinely curious and concerned for the girls. But, at the end of the day, it doesn't impact my personal life. So I won't be dwelling on it. I wish them success and a resolution to this situation. But, I'm not holding my breath, either. There are hundreds, maybe thousands, of girls being mistreated in the KPOP industry every year with promises of debuting or becoming successful by some smaller company with a CEO who just wants to exploit the girls for personal gain. This is the ugly side of KPOP. Things like this help to bring it to light, but it's still a long ways away towards changing for the good. Although I am optimistic that more and more girls are standing up for themselves as more and more popular and successful idols speak out about their history. The even more unfortunate part of this story is that the girls don't have a lot of options if they want to pursue their dreams right now. If they revolt against the company due to the moral injustice and exploitation being done to them, they might end up drifting away into obscurity and never heard from again in KPOP, forced to give up on their dreams. Some of them may end up in another company. It may or may not be a better company. Likely they will go their own separate ways, some choosing to continue their pursuit of becoming an idol, while others might just give up on it. Maybe others will look into another way into entertainment with acting or variety shows. I don't know. But, even if they all stay with this company, they might not recover from this situation. If even "True Fans", such as yourself, are pulling support because of the company, the girls will sink with the ship, too. There's really no win here. Best case for them is probably to put up with it until they get enough popularity on their own to break away from the company and not be bound by their contracts. Maybe the incident will change the way things are handled at the company, If enough people are against it, it might pressure the company to make drastic changes to assuage public opinion. Although the company doesn't seem big enough for that to be plausible. Worst case, the company goes under. Or maybe best case, as that might allow the girls to get their contracts nullified, freeing them for other pursuits. I don't know. It's a tricky situation. I mean, maybe if enough people pull support at the same time, it'll pressure the company to respond favorably and somehow get them to improve things for the future that will satisfy the fans enough to give their support again. But it could also lead to them just shutting down for good and the group disbanding. I didn't realize this was going to turn into an essay, and so for that, I apologize.

They should find a way out of their contracts, honestly. It will surely be very hard, and we are all aware of the "idol debt", but they deserve a company that will treat them right and there are so many chances for them to find another agency out there! There are many survival shows that could possibly lead to them being able to debut elsewhere. They could try for RBW, CUBE, JYP, or for Big Hit through their mini-companies (Pledis, SourceMusic, etc...), after all they are planning to make a female version of I-Land next year...

Those poor girls. Poor Sika.. Its crazy what people will put up with for their dreams. But the reality is.. That this kind of aabuse happens all the time.. Especially the abuse of power and they continuously get away with it. I think it would be a good idea for their fans to just keep trending this video or a hashtag that way whoever the perpetrator was knows that people arent just going to forget about this incident and they will continue to stand behind their group even when the member cant or dont have a voice. That behavior was unacceptable.. And the netizens need to demand justice. Knowing what I know about the entertainment company's even if the members did decide to disband its a good chance their contracts last for 5-6 more years.. And out of spite the CEO may ride that out and terminate.. They would essentially be giving up their dreams.. Thats a hard decision.. I personally will not be giving up on them.. I dont think its fair to give up on the girls because their CEO is a cockbag. If the incidents continue its huge fans like you that usually end up bringing stuff like this to light.. And I'm sure the member cant say thank you but im sure they are seriously glad someone caught that shitheads bad behavior. And it makes more of a difference than you know. Whoever the perpetrator was will think twice about his actions from now on..

just now I discovered this video but it is by far the best take (video or article) on the subject that I have seen. sucks that, as you said, most don't really care and only jumped in the "hot topic of the moment". it totally happened because almost two months later, no one talks about it anymore. the group Twitter is back posting trivial things again and not a single comment appears there to remember these incidents. or on their vlive recordings. it was reported they are under new ownership, so I hope that CEO is not working with them anymore, at least. also, apparently things are being held more professionally now, with no more blatant exploitation on their videos or photos. but still, as a fan of the group, I took the same decision as you. I stopped supporting them. because I like the girls so much, the disgust with all this incident, the agency "apology", etc made me so angry that I just can't brush it off. if they are not being abused anymore, great, but the group's image to me is already tarnished. I wish they would disband after all that happened and the girls would follow their dreams elsewhere, even if this meant not seeing them again anymore. it's just plain evil how that CEO took exactly Doi, the most vulnerable member since she is the more desperate girl in the group, being older, having the experience of being in a failed group before... and forced her to be his toy, his main "eye candy" to attract viewers, always making her show a lot of skin, on videos and photos. a few days before this incident blew up, when I saw a provocative photo of Yoonhye on Twitter, I thought to myself "okay... wtf is going on now!?". girl was only 18yo ffs. signs were always there, but we, even we fans, overlooked. that was our fault on this. only when this blatant incident happened, we came to our senses. and this just makes me even more sad. I'm pretty sure I'll never be able to look at them performing again and not remember this video.

This showed up in my recommendations. Thank you for the great editing, strong evidence, and overall high quality of the video! Fanatics deserves better, I agree with you. Sexploitation is disgusting and it’s going unchecked.

I like the video but I don’t understand what the point of bringing up “It matters more to me because I’m a true fan” (Idk the exact quote) this is not an issue about your fav being mistreated, this is a human rights issue. I’m pretty sure people were talking about this, people who may not have cared for the group before this controversy, but care about the controversy because it’s so shocking and they want answers and justice for something so disgusting. While there are most likely people “hopping on the hype train” I’m pretty sure most people are talking about it out of care for these girls. It’s kinda fucked up to assume people’s intentions, and to bring in shit about being a “true fan” because that actually has nothing to do with anything.

I think he meant that most (not all) articles, or ppl talking about them, are just "hopping on the hype train" and will stop talking after little time and forget it ever happened even if it's not solved, while the "true fans" that really stan and care for the group will never forget it even if it's not spoken about again.

I totally understand what he meant because true fans actually get hurt more because they know the girls more than non stans. Sika was my bias in the group from beginning and to hear this things happened is really frustrating.

i actually understand him. it's true that to other people this issue will just past by in a few weeks or smthn but to true and dedicated fans like him, it will last longer.

Because it's common for people to talk about issues like this for only the moment of it trending. The second it dies down people stop talking about it. But true fans never stop talking about the issue. And since they are fans, they are still watching and keeping up with the group to notice that the issues never stopped. Just because it's not talked about doesn't mean it stopped.

Like Stellar. People talked about the accusations that they were being sexually harassed for a month and never brought it back up again till the group disbanded and the some of the members came forward to talk about the discomfort and mistreatment they suffered by the hands of their agency. The situation with the agency stopped for about two months after people stopped talking about it. But than it came back an it was noticeable now that it had been called out. If everyone keeps talking about it and calling attention to it something will happen quicker. But every time something like this happens everyone talks about for a quick minute than eventually it fades away with barely any results. Same with this situation. It was big in the media when it was fresh, but now less and less people are talking about it. But as a fan I'm noticing that it hasn't stopped fully, just less.
