I love your content. But man lacan is such a paradox - his life his thoughts bring clarity however, his system is so constantly caught up in an totalism or idealism (also in Marx) that seem to me to undeniably pathological.

@@datura7883 the comment is primarily about Lacan. Marx is secondary. Lacan is criticized within broader psychoanalysis for his lack of being able to see things in gradation and development. The other half of psychoanalysis is generally more convincing than lacanian psychoanalysis, except Lacan’s work provides important caveats to the other side, and is an impressive work full of brilliant insights. The irony at the Centre of lacan is that Lagan’s diagnosis is that we are captured by a false totalising coherence in the ego that we then posit and impose on the world, and he shows this by suggesting a theory that provides a totalising coherence around some very strongly posited rigid parameters and assumptions. The other schools of psychoanalysis would suggest that lacan’s brilliance can often be a false totalising coherence merely posited. Marx provides similar forms of false coherence around rigid assumptions (such as the dialectic, and the monistic perspective of the classes).

​@@jonathonray6198I don't think marx's perspective on classes is that monistic at all, in that he recognizes the multiplicity of classes but posits that the struggle between the bourgeoisie and proletariat is the most significant and contradictory one. atleast if i understood your point correctly.

Male vs female sexuality De gaulle - france has to be great because its no longer great. Greatness asserted when metric isn’t true. Lashing out in anger - authority - shows impotence, the father. Real other - don’t know what hte other wants To deal with this, can raise them to level of the absolute, to level of god, go with the person precisely because don’t know what they want. Abyss of others desire - didn’t know how to get parents to buy lego. Manifest lego set through catalogue, santa would find out. All difference is meta difference: To say battle between left and right is already a leftist statement. Because assumes no centre reached. Liberals would say the centre needs to be preserved, which is a conversative move. Men vs women , if insist of biological sex, already conceptualised differently than gender. Hegemony - agree on the same set of differences. Deviances from norm is breakdown. Feminism not about man vs woman but how can we reconceptualise this difference. (feminist movement for equality is therefore limited - because then no difference between man and woman) - be suspicious of hte universal. Dig down into the differences instead. Inequality persists through feminism of equality. Revolution instead not about better pay and representation but structure of differentiation (class - no innate proletarian). War - aren’t we all just human beings (universal). War conflict - articulate clearly the differences. Supposed to preserve the peace (intolerance to uphold tolerance). Don’t tell me peace has to broken out. Peace isn’t antithesis to war, its the manner in which war perpetuates. Supplement reality with fantasy, cannot get back to reality. Sublime - elevating object into thing Kantian sublime - can never reach god. Drawing hte storm, fruitful impossibility of reaching god. Necessarily a failure. Not essence. But only way to access essence within appearance. Not about material reality vs ideal fantasy. No essence but going through horrific knowledge of the object. The object is with the sublime fantasy. Truth of the object is deceptive, least true. Has to supplement reality with fantasy to get to reality. Dialectic materialism - not about innate value but going through repression thing that has to be traversed through progression of history (away from bourgioise morality of innate value). Hysteria - what am i to you (When you lose power you think of yourself in relation to how other is going to view you because theyre more powerful than you). For man: am i truly a man. Patriarchy comes from this because you have to say ‘i am the man’ and therefore create structure of women aas true women below women. Masquerading of power and impotence. #Woman: fhasion the know what they want but don’t know who they are. (because power doesn’t revolve around them). Male vs female - an illusion. Difference as meta difference. Upholding women is real to cover over this idea of true man as a falsity. Women as binary other. Patriarchy - realise female sexuality to the absolute, to guard them. Woman as perfect. Elevating women to level of sublime. Hatred of women is shown through protecting women, idolising woman. Lacan - traversing the fantasy. Can reframe the symbolic and imaginary. Emancitpoatry progress comes from the real (emptiness - as pure differentiaton) not about better. Expose the emptiness of the symbolic is to show progress as revolutionary over trying to achieve the symbolic aim (such as better pay). Don’t trust the sublime but not remove it to material truth instead go to sublime and change it so live differently. Need to change metaphysical words of rowe vs wade to change the worl.d
