I am in the process of getting approved for my VSG surgery and while waiting I am constantly checking for videos regarding the different stages after the surgery and by far your video is the best I have seen. It's so helpful and so detailed, just amazing. I am so glad I found you because you explain everything in detail with so much facts without all the glamour of other people that half way into their "blogs" they have said nothing but misinformation that I know is nothing but drama. Thank you soooo much for your information. This type of surgery is not something to take lightly and it helps to be better prepare so that it can be successful. ❤❤❤❤

Do you still need to strain any smoothie you make? Is hair loss going to happen no matter what I do? Will it come back after I'm able to eat more protein?
@wlsaaaweightlosssuccessata20054 жыл бұрын
No - yes - yes lol No, once you pass into the pureed and whole food phases, you don’t have to strain smoothies. Yes, your body goes into a little shock from surgery, the anesthesia is the big reason. So once you get hydration and protein on track - it starts to stay in. However, I’m doing some research on how our body does with ‘shedding hair’ normally.

What is the controversy about? After comparing it to others, it looks like a great protein powder. Thanks for sharing ! I have subscribed :)
@wlsaaaweightlosssuccessata20055 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delay in answering. The controversy has been over the amount of grams of protein in the scoop. They claim it is "equal to" 30 grams of protein isolate. People have commented "how can you get 30 grams of protein in a 15 gram holder?" Well, my sister-in-love is a chemist, I asked her. Her explanation is if it is "considerate" is would be more dense and take up less space. Kind of like liquid dish soap. The normal, regular name brand soap, is full strength. Yet, the discount store brand is watered down. They both can take up the same container size, but the one that is full strength will take less to get the job done. Whereas the watered down one, will take more to get the job done. That explanation helped me, so that is what I stick with - and I don't feel bad or guilty in using or recommending Genepro to others ;-)

You are so cute! Thank you for all the tips!
@mcraig54725 жыл бұрын
I am having my sleeve in June and I'm thinking of doing the Genepro for the exact same reasons. Even if it is only 15 grams that's the same I'd get with a half scoop of regular stuff.
@wlsaaaweightlosssuccessata20055 жыл бұрын
Hey Shelly - yay!! June is SO close!! Yeah, really, to each his own and for each ones personal reasons. I just felt I was needing more that I was getting on my own. 2.5 years later, I get most of my protein from foods, not supplements now. It just takes time. @wlsaaaweightlosssuccessata20059 ай бұрын
1 week out. Hmmm you should try to stick with non-thick if you can. Your pouch is still swollen. Healing. Try different temps of things too. Add unflavored protein powder any time you can. Stick with easily blendable veggies. Only berries if you must have fruit. Others have too much sugar. I had a lot of broth, and added Genpro protein powder to anything but water. Recipes - look for low carb low sugar things.

Some of these programs push WAY too much protein. I’m a nurse 10 years now and I can assure you I’ve never seen a patient come in with protein malnourishment. (Unless they were cancer pts on chemo) I get 30-40 grams per day and my protein levels and lean mass has always been on the high end. And your hairs gonna fall out sister regardless of trying to stuff 90 grams of protein down your gullet. Just from the trauma/stress on your body will cause the loss.
@wlsaaaweightlosssuccessata20052 жыл бұрын
Yes, the trauma and shock our body goes through, causes all sorts of things. It is interesting, different states (countries even) suggest different guidelines. I received mine from ASMBS. True though, many people are being advised much lower protein levels once they reach maintenance.

@wlsaaaweightlosssuccessata20055 жыл бұрын
The few times I’ve tried adding to foods and save - it made it a bit more liquid. In things you’ll heat up again, it clumps a little. Which is how I learned to mix it in room temp or cold liquid first 😉 I’ve added it to my water, G2’s, and smoothie and it lasts all day just fine 👍🏻

Hydration is key when you walk a bunch. You need it in all of your cells. Drinking more often is good and ok. It is at first, when people are learning their pouch.
