Nice video Anthony. What I missed though, was a larger reflection of the large cloud on the water. For some reason it does not totally convince to me on this specific part.

Thank you so much for the video tutorial! After watching I purchased the software. I like how the lake reflection changes according the sky you select. Light room does not do that.

Thank you for that great tutorial on sky replacement Anthony. As always your expertise and teaching abilities is what I come back for. I have just recently purchased Luminar Neo and I am really enjoying it. One issue that I am having when adding a sky to an image shot in portrait mode, the sky sits in the image in a vertical position instead of horizontal position. Works great for images shot in landscape mode, but portrait mode....does not want to work right. Any thoughts on why this would happen and if it has ever happened to you, or if there is a fix for this that you know about? Thanks again for your outstanding work on educating us Anthony.

I used the sky tab last week and it worked great. Today I went to change the sky and went to creative section and no sky listed, where did it go?

Hi Anthony, in my opinion, the reflection of the cloud seems very poor eg the blob of cloud above the right trees is missing and the colour of the main cloud seems to be different from that in the water. Is there now another way of introducing eg a copy of clouds flipped and introduced into the water area, please - I seem to recall a KZbin video where another commentator does this? Otherwise a very useful tutorial, thanks

The suggestion to try pulling yellows and greens in opposite directions for some total contrast in the grassy areas is interesting. I will have to try it out. I have a photo of a wheat field starting to ripen from a recent trip to Kansas that should be a prefect candidate.

I can't see the choice to add objects in the sky. In luminar AI you can put objects in the sky (planets, birds etc). Can you do it in Luminar NEO?

Almost any photographer will spot this as a replaced sky as the water reflection does not mimic the sky-- Does this program have an option to select the sky, flip it upside down and then move it into the water for the reflection like you can do in PS.
@bazwillrun2 жыл бұрын
the sky reflection would be the last of your problems with such a mismatched pairing

It does reflect it, what your seeing is a natural perspective change in the water that happens in real life.
@ilesmic2 жыл бұрын
@@JEDINITE30 I respectively disagree - Look at the trees to camera right there is a white cloud above that tree right on the tree line-- does not show in the water and it would show in real life. The big cloud in the center left would show more in the water- all the dramatic clouds would have to reflect some in the water and they really do not-- Yes they would be darker and would be a bit of blur but not much that water is very still.
@JEDINITE302 жыл бұрын
@@ilesmic I see what you are talking about, but skies sink into the ground in reflections depending of the angle of view and true distance between objects. Since that cloud is so close to the tree from the viewpoint, it would sink behind the tree in the reflection because of its true distance and angle. Due to actual distance the cloud is from the tree and the angle of incidence you will have different results. The closer you get to a 90 degree angle the more it would reveal itself. The further you get past 90 degrees it will disappear. That's the science of it in physics. Check it out sometime.

Nice edit, but too bad the software doesn’t reflect the substituted sky in the water.

@dktraveller83642 жыл бұрын
Well I think they are trying to account for the combined incident+reflective angles but perhaps not doing a very good job of it. The portion of the cloud that we see in the water is obviously the reflection of the very upper tip of the cloud in the sky (well above the top of the image canvas). For this to be the only portion of the cloud reflected then the cloud bank would be so far beyond the tree line that it would look much softer and distant. Of course Mr Morganti could have fixed that, but as it is it does not look correct.
@damoclesjones30312 жыл бұрын
The sky reflection is off in the edit. Considering the image was shot straight on, the sky reflection should pretty much match above and below.

I hope you don't mind me saying that but I think your Lightroom edit of the same photo looks a lot better and much more "credible" than this one, where the sky looks so obviously "doctored" that it makes me cringe with disbelief. I know why I stopped using Luminar altogether - the results practically always look just way too artificial, as if someone desparately wanted to try out Photoshop effects but didn't know how to do it properly.
@stevejarvis1862 жыл бұрын
Mr Morganti, I dont use this `NEO` product but having just watched the Lightroom version of your processing of this photo, I came over to this video to see what you`d done and I have to say I so hate this, it looks so false compared to the more natural result you got using LRC. This sky is just so over the top its untrue. IMHO of course. The sky in the LRC version isn't very exciting of course, but at least what you've done in that version is more realistic with you just `teasing` out a bit more of what was already there. Its very interesting though to see the different results that you can get with differing software, but having seen this `NEO` thing now, I for one will not be moving over to this it any time soon. Great LRC video though.

Amthomy towards the end of the video you performed the before-after. The sky reflection in the water did not show up properly. other than that I guess the demo was ok. sorry.

Your choice of sky replacement draws attention away from the building to the bright yellow/orange of the cloud, the antithesis of your stated intention.

Not gonna lie, but i dont think you could have picked a worse sky for that demo if you tried...sky and photo so mismatched it was cringeworthy on all levels... i would have preferred the original photo just with the usual processing..sorry

I agree, the sky enhancer on the actual sky would have been the better choice for this edit. There was enough information in the sky from the actual photo. Also, when the image got dark from the sky replacement in the video, accent Ai would have intelligently brightened the image.
