Wow, this sport is crazy. Years ago there was a problem with people only pulling guard, so some rulesets tried penalizing or even banning the guard pull. Now it's the exact opposite, people have to be sat down or the match becomes a boring and low skill wrestling match instead of a fight for the sub.

Yeah unfortunately athletes mold to the ruleset to win, Adcc used to be no points first half to encourage subs, then people figured out just stall and play patty cake until points, same with ebi, stall until overtime and win by fastest escape time. Sub only no time limit is about the only thing left to eliminate stalling.

Except Sub only no time limit has been tried so many times and leads to complete disasters like the Izaak Michell and Kyle Chambers 2 hour match or hour In half Gordon Ryan vs Keenan 1 or Felipe Pena vs Gordon 1 .. having endless time encourages long cardio strategys pacing etc … there’s a reason nobody does it and it’s because the worst ruleset of them all

IMO which is basically invalid at this point-butt scooting and not knowing takedowns is the biggest negative in BJJ and is why wrestling has dominated mma. If you hit there hard enough, you can knock a person out. Happens in MMA all the time from high kicks when the shin bone hits that area. ... And, they are cumulative.
